Secret Santas. The decorations around town. Coming up with gift ideas. It's just a special kind of fun, seeing some freak out and rush around, while others join me by the public fire and roast marshmallows. The local market huts are filled with artisans selling their goods, with a covered seating area surrounded by burgers, sausages, macaroni and cheese, and other cooked meals ready to charge you far too much for some food. The giant Christmas tree looms over the town square, and the cathedral grounds open for all to visit, take photos, and purchase teas, coffees and mulled wines from the small market on the grounds.
The town feels so empty the rest of the year.
