Everyone did super well this month! Seriously, we smashed the entry number from last month, let's continue to smash them! And no matter what happens, remember that while winning is fun, it isn't everything! Getting those numbers up, seeing more and more people enter art, seeing how everyone interprets the given topic, or maybe even finding a rival to compete against. The more you draw, the more you will improve! I want to see even higher numbers this month!!!

It's a nice sentiment, but I do agree with @Treeglow Flicker , earning an achievement is special! It never feels right when it's given to you. Everyone will have their chance to submit again next month!

That's a very good point! I have run a few art contests in the past (unrelated to ponies) so if you would like to talk more in private about future events then I'm more than happy to discuss ideas! (As long as I'm not blocked from entering... lol) I am very happy to see this has returned, and it's expected to have teething problems early on in development. Whatever happens though, we'll follow the rules! That's not a bad way of going about it, if you do use official renders of characters in your work, then perhaps stating that up-front and giving credit would be a good way of going about it. Or, since we have quite a few banner artists, if enough people are interested then we could have separate submissions for this style of art, a different art competition, or something along those lines?... Or maybe add a rule that they need to be edited in some way, some people have a special talent for SFX rather than drawing. There's quite a few ways of going about this besides outright banning it, but it'll probably take time and testing to figure it out. Aww don't worry buddy, the competition is not over yet! Last month we had votes coming in until the last minute!

Haha I appreciate the sentiment, my art is Submission 8. It was a little rushed as this month has been very busy with work and medical treatments, but I think it came out alright I'm not against nicknames, and I appreciate the sentiment! Considering the submission is already up with votes, I would imagine removing it now would be problematic. Of course, if there was no specific rule against it, then it would merely be something to consider in future art competitions. Though I feel it's pretty harmless, Collage is still a form of art, and the people will decide on what should win in a contest. I wouldn't take anything anyone says here to heart, nobody is attacking you in particular, there was just a misunderstanding at some point, as after your submission was placed, someone had asked whether that style of art was allowed, but we did not get a direct answer before the submission date closed. So you'll be fine. I'm no mod/admin though, it is up to them to decide on the rules, but that is my opinion of the whole debacle.

Good lord, my artistic abilities are being called into question from all sides! I struggled getting that out let alone smoothing the lines, shading the image, or scrapping it and painting the pony Mona Lisa! Everybody's a critic!

And Your ability to create something so intricate, colourful and full of energy is a sight to behold! I was quite surprised to see a EQG submission! Very different and fun!

Interesting idea @Pinkie Pie! Well, this month has been a whole lot of ups and downs! Some sad days, and some funny days, but I've always been one to try and make people smile even in the worst of times. I was recently brought in to model for a photoshoot and boy what a rough day that was! It poured down with rain, so we couldn't take any outdoor shots, the coffee machine had broken and the nearest one was down the street in the pouring rain, and some of us had become quite saddened by it all. Some were talking about leaving or cancelling the shoot! I didn't want it to cancel, so I thought I'd try and get everyone's spirits back up, I mentioned how we still had some costume pieces, and with a little convincing, the director agreed to try it out. Some of us put on staff uniforms, others wore these really bright orange jumpers, and we took loads of photos of us pretending to be staff members serving drinks, showing people where to go on the map, posing in front of signs and even playing pool/ping pong in the rec-room! We got a lot of good shots, I was asked to come back, and I was actually asked if we could all take selfies together! Now I have some photos I'll cherish forever of all the smiling faces of the people I met. It's not much, but I like to think I helped make it a fun day and helped raise everyone's spirits!
