I have to seriously think that part through of my MLP fanfic, the part where Princess Luna helps my OC deal with fear after retaining a phobia in a previous life. I see two sides of this one, while it would not be fair to depict her as a torturer, she would not think it was kind to let phobia limit someone and destroy their lives either. Plus I'm pretty sure she'd want my OC to learn to be more resilient, one step at a time, and know that there are others with problems as well. She'd do the same for other Ponies. Courage is not the absence of fear, but how we face it, together. She would never force this on anyone, but she would ask individuals at least try. What do you think? agree or disagree? IMO a good princess believes in the strength and determination of her allies, and does not coddle, and while compassion is important, so is tough love and encouraging someone to learn how to survive.

Thank you, I worry if this idea makes my MLP fan fiction too edgy though, I don't want it getting into grimdark territory because that is not the direction I want to take it in, not this one I want to work on anyway. But it would make better use of Luna's dreamwalking abilities and depict the importance of exposure therapy for phobias. I guess that achieves something, trial and tribulations and all that. I did say if I were in this fantasy world as my OC I'd want to be tested for my loyalty to Equestria, and overcoming challenges would be a good way to do it, at least it would not be boring for people to go through all that. I don't believe Princess Luna is cruel, and if she would do this, she would obviously have a good reason to. Like anypony else in this fictional world I cannot expect to be babied all through my life.
