  1. There are many genres of animes.

On one side, you get the shonen 'hardcore' anime like Naruto, Bleach etc.

On the other side, you get the moeblobs kawaii desu uguu stuff like Lucky Star

And on another side, the ecchi/dark anime oriented to more mature audiences like Elfen Lied or Love Hina

If you want, watch Death Note. Yes, generic suggestion and sort of overrated anime, but it's not a panty shots pandering or have Lucky Star moecrap, or have sappy slice of life stuff. It's plain mystery and detective drama. An enjoyable watch.

  2. It's true. DBZ had no solid plot or characterization.

You have to remember this wasn't a show meant to have a solid plot or structure. It was about fights and hits and explosions and stuff.

Most people who hate on DBZ are the edgy kids who hate on popular things or childhood cartoons. The same people who hate on Naruto without giving any proper explanation. They just hate it because of the fanbase who praise those anime as the best thing ever.

  3. I've lost faith in McCarthy after S3. It's just like she's not even trying anymore.

It's not that Twilight just got a pair of wings. It's that S1 Twilight has been practically killed.

Where's that cute, socially awkward and neurotic unicorn we all loved in S1?

Oh, that's right. She's a princess now, outgoing, social and is loved by everyone, with no flaws whatsoever.

You know, because every little girl wants to be a princess.

  4. I can't believe people still actually believe that 'Love and Tolerance' is serious.

1° This is not the fandom motto

2° It's a 4chan joke no one uses anymore because you all turned it into the 'brony code'

3° The show has never been about love and tolerance, at all

    4° Tolerance =/= acceptance

    To answer your questions:

    >How does music and art effect us?

I believe most music in this fandom is generic trash, so it's not a big influence. My influence are fics, which I write to improve my English.

    >How have we effected the internet in general?

This fandom has a heavy and notable load of content by now. R34, images, etc. I'm rather impressed, honestly.

    >How do people truly see us, trolling aside?

Casual and the average Joe might see us as freaks or homosexual. You know, the common stuff. Don't think everyone has open arms for whatever you like.

  5. Plot was generic and cheap feel inducing. I'm sure I've seen a fic or comic about Luna having a friend and then finding out she was long dead after her return, 1000 years later.

Animation was pretty neat. Not show-tier, but very good enough for a fanmade project.

For me, characters felt bland and unlikeable.

It was nice enough. Way better than that OC crappy 20 minute long animation called Dawn Dusk or something.

Only animation that will beat it will be Double Rainboom, or 'Brony Memes: The Episode' as I call it.

  6. I'm not proud of being a 'brony' as I'm not proud of playing videogames or watching sitcoms.

And I'm not saying I'm ashamed. I'm just not proud of liking a cartoon for little girls, because I don't feel special or important. I don't feel the need to think I'm a special snowflake for watching this show.

  7. Don't know. Maybe because most of this fandom always gives a sugarcoated opinion without any reason, and anyone who dissagress or dislikes their points of view is a troll/hate

To respond your question, I think some people are backing up the finale because it was terrible and a lot of people can see what's wrong with it.

The finale was mediocre at best, plot-wise.

SUDDENLY EVERYTHING IS CHAOS, OH WHAT AM I GONNA DO? OH RIGHT, USE FRIENDSHIP! THERE, ALL SOLVED! CONGRATULATIONS, TWILIGHT, HAVE WINGS! NOW I'M A PRINCESS!

Yes, yes, I realize this is a girl's show, and that we shouldn't expect deep stories, but c'mon, this was a kick to the groin.

The pacing was godawful, thing that would have been nicely solved in a two-parter. I didn't mind the songs, and the writing had a lot of inconsistencies. Rainbow's destiny is not being a weather pony, for example.

  8. Celestia said that Starswirl didn't understand friendship as Twilight did.

This could imply that Starswirl understood friendship, just not like Twilight.

I'm still bothered by the fact that he creates like 200 spells and gets nothing, yet Twilight finishes one of them and becomes a princess.

Just more fuel to Twilight's MarySueism.

  9. I don't find the Water Temple (or any temple) to be hard. If anything, they're just long and tedious, but not hard.

For me, the most annoying or tedious temples are:

Lakebed Temple: Twilight Princess - The whole staircase switching and moving the water flow to another room business was frustrating.

Forest Temple: Ocarina of Time - As a kid, I really used to get lost, especially in the 'outdoors' room. It was long and confusing.

Arbiter's Grounds: Twilight Princess - This is a great and fun dungeon, but quite long. The whole Poe catching part was the worst, but I liked the boss: Stallord.

Great Bay Temple: Majora's Mask - This one was awful, because sometimes I didn't even know where to go after the water flow carried me to a room. Also, since you get the Ice Arrows in this one, I thought you had to defeat Gyorg with them.

Turtle Rock: A Link to the Past - Horribly long and annoying. Sure, it was the final dungeon of the game, but it was awful. I had to go out and fill my bottles with fairies all the time.

Lanayru Mining Facilty: Skyward Sword - The Lanayru Desert overworld was already confusing and awful, and even more the dungeon. The whole time shifting stones business was interesting, but confusing as well. Too bad the temple had a dissapointing boss.

  10. I am disappointed in anyone who is angry with John DeLancie, he tried very hard to potray us in a positive light and we repay him and the team by pirating it?

It's not like DeLancie did the documentary from the bottom of his heart.

He did it solely for the money, acting like the hero of the bronies.

That's the reason why he's so upset.

    • Brohoof 2
  11. @@DeiStar, I'm confused.  What was your purpose in copy/pasting from this blog article?  Do you agree with these opinions?  Are you trying to show that there are actual bronies who share this opinion of the documentary being biased?  Are you the person who wrote this article and wish to spread your opinion in a thread that seems relevant?  An explanation of your motives would be appreciated.

Yes, I agree with most of the article, and pretty much sums up my opinion about bronydoc.

Shame the whole thing was too 'strong' for this site.

  12. What exactly did this accomplish? To show the world how great the fandom
is? How special the fandom is? To try and justify, in your minds, that
watching a children’s television show makes you some kind of hero?

Bronyism is not a movement. This is an insult to those who truly do
struggle to change things in the world. A pony fan will not be paid less
in the workplace because of liking a children’s cartoon show. A pony
fan will not be prevented from marrying because they enjoy a children’s
cartoon show. A pony fan will never see war, or create peace, by liking a
children’s cartoon show. Lauren Faust may have pushed feminism by
creating a children’s show for girls that isn’t terrible, but fans of
the show have no right in sharing that claim. Faust and her colleagues
put their livelihoods and their reputations on the line by breaking away
from the norm in their industry. Their success is theirs alone, paid
for in blood, sweat and tears. Pony fans have paid nothing of the sort.
    They simply watch television.

Pony fans are not special. There are fandoms for nearly everything
that exists on the Internet: Homestuck, furries, Doctor Who. These
fandoms also have artists, musicians, newscasters and just plain fans
that create and support official and unofficial content of what they are
fans of. They have charities and fundraisers. They have their drama and
pornography. Some even have conventions, containing many people with
stories of good, evil, and everything in between.

A pony fan is simply someone who exists within the My Little Pony
fandom. They may watch the show, they may not. They might be good
people, or bad people. But liking a children’s television show is not
what defines a person as good or bad. Their actions do. To try and tell
others that this isn’t the case, to try and construe a group of people
too large and diverse to feasibly place under one banner as a single
entity? All for the sole purpose of making themselves feel better about
    doing something they enjoy?

Is this really the community you want to show people?

I hope these editorials will give those of you who backed this
documentary, and those who helped work on and create it, something to
think about. You cannot erase the past, but you can question yourself
and learn these lessons for the future. Try to educate yourself, in
knowing when you are being persuaded into wanting something, in knowing
what the possible consequences of such projects would entail. Most of
all, I hope this installs a bit of humility for everyone who reads this.

My advice though? Next time you have money burning a hole in your
wallet and you’re looking for self-gratification, buy an adult toy. They
are cheaper, will last you longer, and the public won’t have to see you
    do it.

  13. I listen to plenty of oldies, mainly Beatles.

I also listen to some The Who and Rolling Stones.

Not a huge fan of 50's stuff like Elvis. I'm more into 60's-70's myself.

Here are some of my favorite tracks from Beatles' Please Please Me album:

And more tracks, such as: 'I Saw Her Standing There', 'Boys' and 'P.S. I Love You'

  14. What bothers me is people who hate on whatever they don't like and point it as the 'bad' side of the fandom

"LEL R34, CLOPFICS AND GRIMDARK ARE THE BAD PART OF THE FANDOM!!!"

No, they're not, dumbass. The rabid white knights who hate on those things just to make themselves look like the 'good brony' are the worst kind of cancer this fandom has.

"STOP LIKING WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE WRONG!!11"

Do everyone a favor and shut up. No one cares if you despise Molestia, or filly shipping or incest, etc. You're not the fandom's judge, and you are no one to decide what is right and what is wrong.

  15. I think I'll just post a list. I just posted a 7k characters post and I don't feel like typing much.

Edit: I see that the reasons are requested. Ok, just a few lines.

Rarity. - Freakin' annoying, useless, wannabe, golddigger, would trade her friends for fame.

    >Would trade her friends for fame

You did watch the 'Sweet and Elite' episode, right?

You do realize you just gave a nonsensical reason to dislike her, right?

  16. One of the MLP Staff.  (Lauren Faust, Meghan McCarthy...I can't remember who) said on their Twitter that:

A certain muffin-loving, gray pegasus will be coming back.

Or something like that anyway.  And who else but Derp-eh Hoof-Ves!

    Any source on that?

Anyway, I don't care if she comes back or not. I just think this whole Derpygate drama shook Hasbro very hard. Now that things seem to have settled down, maybe she could come back.

    But, as said, I'm indifferent.

  17. Not gonna post any embeds, but I'll grab the Abbey Road album and give the mane six one song:

Twilight Sparkle - Come Together (Special song, meant to bring everyone together in peace)

Rarity - Something (Elegant song, classy, and a romantic tune of beauty)

Pinkie Pie - Maxwell's Silver Hammer (Silly song, catchy, and fun to sing along)

Applejack - Oh! Darling (Strong, passionate song with an honest message)

Fluttershy - Octopus's Garden (Happy song, relaxed and related to nature)

Rainbow Dash - I Want You (She's So Heavy) [strong and powerful song, with a simplistic message and dark theme]
