  1. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silver smiles, "Well, I was going to save this as a surprise for if we got into a firefight, but I suppose I can show off a little now... Would you mind handing me your knife?" She asks politely, watching the road as they get closer to their target. Which reminds me, I should probably figure out what he can do before I start making plans around him... I can bet good money he's a meta, the question is what kind... She muses internally, waiting for the knife.
  2. That's definitely a core of the Metroid franchise. The whole point of Metroidvania games is not only can you do it the way the game wants you to, or you can bet creative and do things in a different order, you can explore for extra gear or just use what's given to you on a silver platter. There is an air of openness and invitation to discover things for yourself. The other problem is that there are other games that do what Generation Force is trying to do, but better. SWAT 4 has better AI and more emphasis on cooperation, Borderlands has more endearing and engaging mechanics, Bulletstorm has a better scoring mechanic, even Destiny has its unique weapon dynamics to turn the co-operative shooter experience into something interesting. Generation Force doesn't, it's just another game in a niche that has plenty of good examples already, and worse the franchise that they're using is one that sorely needs a new game that either goes back to its roots or at least reflects on them.
  3. Why am I mad about generation force? Because it's not a metroid game. The only footage we've seen of it, the stuff from E3 Direct, shows that it's a multiplayer objective and score-based team shooter, not an exploration game like the previous Metroid games. Honestly, I wish that Metroid would get another Metroid game where you can go around and bravely kill new and interesting things in your path, and Nintendo partnered with Disney (which they have done before) in order to make another Republic Commando game, which would fit the narrative and style of the game far better than the Metroid universe does. The biggest problem is, again, that it's the antithesis of what Metroid is about. In every previous Metroid game, a few elite bounty hunters (usually just one, unless we're talking about prime 3 which was fantastic) act as a tipping point between the two military red-shirt armies of the Space Marines and the Space Pirates. This is just turning that into another generic shooter, without any of the interesting wrinkles that make it Metroid.
  4. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silver smiles, "Everything I need I carry with me, I have my bag for anything I may need in case low tech hacking is required, and I assure you that I'm more than capable of defending myself unless this place happens to have some sort of anti-tank weaponry on hand. Are you concerned for my safety? " she asks curiously, trying to gauge Shade's behavior and determine how reliable of a future partner he may be.
  5. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silver nods, "That sounds about right... Tried to do something to make the world a better place, wound up making myself a superhuman... The great test tube giveth, and the great test tube taketh away..." She says jokingly. Silver sits in the passenger seat and looks over her plan one more time, "Let's do it."
  6. I know FFVII gets all the hype, but can we please get an updated FFVI release? 6 was the best Final Fantasy, it had the most mold-breaking story, and the most interesting mechanics for upgrades. FFVII will be good, it just will, but people obsessed with nostalgia will say it's not good ENOUGH, which is what will make everyone salty.
  7. And we're back!

  8. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silver nods, "Maybe one day I'll get a chance to examine that thing and build a new one, maybe even improve it... For now though, it's time to go on an adventure." she walks over to the door and opens it, ready to get on with their raid. Whole waiting she decides to say something, "The only person to blame for what happened to me is myself... I went a little mad scientist one day and now we're here."
  9. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silverlight sighs, "It's a shame that there aren't more, would make carrying my lab around between buildings much easier. Anyway, now that you're sufficiently kitted out shall we get to work? I figure it's about damn time we show the companies around here that they're nowhere near as invincible as they think they are... " upon hearing his mention of other metas she sighs, "Ain't that the truth though? It takes way too much effort to drop some of them. I'm just glad we can avoid such unpleasantness honestly." After a bit of waiting, the target finally drives into Longbow's sights. This one was an executive of a bank, rumored to be attempting to inform on his bosses to the FBI. She tenses her other hand and draws it back, manifesting the energy she wishes to fire into an arrowlike burst, then lets it fly. It unerringly strikes the hood of the car, caving the sheet metal in and wrecking the engine as she calmly prepares for the killing blow. She draws back a second blast, taking the time to let this one charge to guarantee the kill, and once again fires, this time punching through the driver's side roof to turn the man's head into nothing more than a splatter.
  10. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Sara stares at the device in awe, "I want one... No, wait, I want five ..." she stares at the armory, "Alright, so what shall you be bringing? I want to see what kind of gear you've got planned for an operation like this, especially since I haven't actually done anything like this before... I'm so excited though!" she smiles, looking back into the room to see what Shade decides to bring for the raid. Longbow sits on a bus, riding toward the location of her next kill in as nondescript a way as possible. She's wearing a drab olive t-shirt and tan cargo pants, but carries a more appropriate uniform for someone of her status in her bag. Approaching the business district of the city, she gets off the bus and heads to the roof of a nearby building, changing in the bathroom on the top floor before coming out. Her 'work outfit' as she knows it is a lightweight ballistic weave she stole from a military research convoy a while back, dyed into a grey camouflage pattern. Her left hand tenses as she begins to gather her focus, ready to fire when the opportunity becomes right.
  11. Paging @Skullbuster Hey, tried my hand at creating a more dangerous and sociopathic villain, wanted to know if she would clear your inspection. Introducing Longbow, my first attempt in a long time with creating a non-supportive, straight attacking type of character.
  12. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silverlight looks like a kid in a candy store, "Mother of God, where do you get this stuff? It's... I've only seen some of these things in textbooks!" Her eyes are immediately drawn to the glowing object, "Ooh, what's that thing? It looks... Fascinating..." She says with a glint in her eye, as if there's only a thin thread of respect keeping her from running over and examining it thoroughly. Paging @Jellal Fernandes As he finishes the countdown in his head at the same moment the computer does, Emile sees nothing. Then, a few moments later, the building begins to burn. Flammable paint, intentionally faulty wiring, and a variety of accelerants in the construction cause it to go up like a matchstick in a campfire, but surprisingly while it's obvious the building will never be a building again, it appears that the fire won't spread anywhere else.
  13. Paging @Derplight Sperkle Silver nods, "They're great for when you can't find a no questions asked warehouse to hole up in." She smiles, "Let's see this stash of yours, I'm curious what kind of gear a fixer has prepared for when he needs to do a job." Her eyes glaze over for a moment, "Fuck... Something happened, someone's in the safehouse you met me in... I'm going to try and activate the security system..." She sends a mental command, activating the safe house's failsafes. Paging @Jellal Fernandes Emile hears a beep from the computer, followed by the screen's page being replaced with a DOS prompt detailing that an intrusion has been detected and failsafe has been initiated. A countdown from 20 appears on the screen, the door beckoning as escape to him.
  14. Paging @Jellal Fernandes The number is unlisted, but is recorded as being part of a block of telephone numbers licensed to E-corp. The computer sends a notification to Silverlight that an unauthorized USB device has been added to her computer, but the recording still plays. It's the audio of Silverlight, Shade, and the woman hiring them discussing the terms of their agreement. From when she arrived to when the target is stated. The last thing that's said is that the target is Mercury Lab, Floor sub-6.
  15. Paging @Jellal Fernandes The last thing he sees is a new note on the desktop of the computer labelled 'New recording added, conversation' followed by a timestamp. Apparently this strange meta woman somehow kept recordings of her conversations remotely, seeing as the timestamp was recent, very recent.
  16. Paging @Jellal Fernandes Inside the cave is a room full of prototypes. Evidently, whoever the meta Emile was following, she fancied herself a bit of an inventor. The underground room is full of half-constructed devices of all shapes and kinds, going from what appear to be weapons to things that have no discernible purpose at all. Some of them have labels, such as 'thermal deflection device mk. 3' or 'Cloaking device? Iterate later', but the center table is empty despite its label, which says 'Version 2 nanites: Flame resistant'. Evidently this meta or someone she knew used some sort of nanotechnology, and was developing it here.
  17. Alright. I may have to make a villain on-tier with some of the more powerful heroes to challenge them, but since I may be drugged up for surgery tomorrow, it may not be done till the next day.
  18. I'd say you are moving it a little slowly based on the difference in time between posts. As for nerfs, I was just saying that either PC villains should be buffed rather severely based on the power disparity between them and the PC heroes, or we should go to just heroes.
  19. Well, my team just lost... Again... I'll be here if anyone needs me.

  20. Probably should. It's probably for the best to keep up on the OOC in general honestly.
  21. with regards to what's been going on in the OOC, or the in character thing?
  22. Paging @Mars Orbit Abbadon showed up Weiss kicked Draco's ass Silverlight and Shade are planning a firework show Balance concerns on the OOC side That's most of what you missed
