    hasbro owns the block that MLP airs in. Regardless, Hasbro has full control over the show, it was never The Hub.

    I'm well aware Hasbro now only owns a specific block on DF, but I still can't fathom the logic in debuting EQG 2 at 3:30 in the afternoon, rather than primetime. If they aired it in primetime, considering the rave reviews from most fans, and critics, that airing would pull in well over 700k viewers. There is absolutely nothing on that channel that will ever bring in what MLP brings in, and they're wasting this opportunity.

    As men, society expects us to extoll and celebrate macho things exclusively. Our purview is violence, cynicism, and sex. Anything outside of that is supposed to be ridiculed and faced with scorn. MLP is everything we are taught to hate.

    This video always annoyed me. I don't know why. Maybe it's the opportunistic attention horsing. As much of an over the top Derpy fan as I am, I still can't watch this for more than 5 seconds without going, "oh stfu" and shut it off.

    I've only had one moment, and it was only POSSIBLY embarrassing, if it indeed did happen. Took my car in for emissions testing. I have my iphone paired to the bluetooth on my car stereo. Well apparently, the bay where they do the testing is in range of my bluetooth, because as I'm waiting in the lobby I look at my phone, and I'm apparently 18 seconds into the Cafeteria Song. Now....I DID take this all into consideration beforehand. I closed out of the music app before the car was handed over, and I made sure to turn the volume down on my phone, but the fact remains, that music was playing, and it would have only been playing if it was triggered by the bluetooth. So I don't know....could they have been blasted with MLP music for 18 seconds? Yes....but hopefully not.

    I got my Daring Do books in the mail today. Seems the whole series is 10 books long. Books 1-5 were mentioned in season 4, and the books in the collection are 8-10. So that leaves book 6-7 untouched, which makes me think one or both could be used in S5. The names of the books are "Daring Do and the Trek to the Terrifying Tower" and "Daring Do and the Volcano of Destiny". I REALLY wanted to avoid all S5 spoilers, but I couldn't avoid this one, it was too obvious a potential spoiler.

    That is quite significant. Can't please everyone, I guess. 25% is a sizable portion, but at least 3/4 were interested enough to stick through it.

    I dunno. I just can't imagine some people feeling somehow slighted by the Reflections arc amounting to a measurable impact on sales, especially since those sales only continued precisely down the steady downward slide. If there was a significant deviation, I'd be inclined to agree, but as it stands now, I really can't.

    well now hang on a second. Regarding the HN article, those comic sales have been steadily declining for eons, long before this whole thing kicked off. It also stands to reason the Annual would see less sales as well, if the comic series is dropping. There's also the subject matter to consider. #23 is probably more uninteresting to readers than the conclusion of Trixie's mini arc. I don't see any relation to TeddyGate at all.

    I've noticed a few minors in this thread, such as the post above, who are too afraid to ask their parents to take them to RR, or their parents just don't understand. The only way to handle this is like an adult, and calmly, and articulately explain to them the appeal the show has on you on a personal level, as well as to the millions of adult fans at large. Presenting facts is the only way you'll get what you want here.

    I usually have adorable MLP dreams. I once had one where Twilight had a Twilight plushie in her mouth, and was shaking it around like a dog would, and I was worried she'd ruin the thing. She was upset because no one asked her for permission to make a plushie of herself I would pay to have that dream every single night.

    Ya, if anything, this should mean DF will be included into whatever cable package gets you the full array of Discovery channels, so we could see MLP's ratings go up.

    "Next time, on a very special My little Pony......" F.That. First of all, this is supposed to be a lighthearted, fun show. Even semi serious topics are played off. Secondly, and most importantly, the shitstorm it would create would engulf the fandom, and turn DHX and Hasbro away from us for good. Look at what happened with Derpy, then magnify it a thousand times. There would be innumerable complaints about how the portrayal was over the top, or not taken serious enough, or somehow inaccurate, or too cringeworthy to watch. No thank you, at all, ever, for any reason.

    I was the biggest fan of this show back in the day. Even after I left for the Air Force back in 2004, I still found the time to record season 4. I actually just found out that season 6 is on Netflix, in English, but I guess times change. There's something boring and childish about the show that would have appealed to be 10 years ago, but doesn't now. Oh well......guess I'll always have the memories of liking the show.
