  1. OK so I finally gave it a shot, but unsurprisingly it didn't work. :/ I tried my best to relax, and I was somewhat relaxed, I'm just not sure if it was enough. I tried to free my mind, but I couldn't. I didn't even come close to getting into a trance, though I did feel a bit drowsy on my last attempt. At some point I did feel a certain numbness overcome me, and I kind of had the feeling of possessing hooves, but it wasn't all that overwhelming. I will definitely give this whole thing another shot, perhaps sometime in summer when the weather isn't quite as depressing and when there will be less going on in my life that I can think about. Hopefully it will work then. I used Rarity btw., next time I'll try Fluttershy. We shall see how it turns out.
  2. @khaine21x3 I don't play any games, so it wouldn't make a difference anyway. You can't or at least shouldn't defrag a solid state drive. Trust me, it doesn't work. I too think that Linux has great potential, but for some reason I just don't feel quite as at home when using Linux. I totally agree on that high quality thing, like I stated earlier, if it weren't for ThinkPads I'd have a MacBook because nothing else can compare quality-wise. Not all of their products are overpriced though, the small Air is actually pretty much what you'd expect to pay for the hardware you get.
  3. What exactly do you mean with slow? Do you mean performance-wise or due to OS getting filled with junk? If it's the latter, a fresh install once in a while usually helps. I end up reinstalling Windows every 3 months. Yes, that often. It has become a ritual. As for performance: As more demanding software is released it is to be expected that PC start to "feel" slower. Back in the days, you could surf the Web with a 500MHz Pentium III, no problem at all. Nowadays, I don't recommend that. I'm currently using a ThinkPad X301 which is 4 years old and hasn't had a single upgrade and it's still running great. It might only have a 1,4GHz ULV CPU, but I don't notice any difference to my i3 machine. Both are running Windows 8. I really doubt it's running any slower than back in 2009. In fact, I think it's faster now because of Windows 8 vs. Vista. I don't think I have to explain that point. BTW, it "only" has 2GB RAM which oddly enough is more than sufficient. I would not have expected that. Mac's use the same hardware as PC's: Intel CPU's, DDR RAM, HDD's or SSD's, I don't see why PC's should become slower over time unless of course the OS is at fault but like I already mentioned, a clean install always solves that problem. Or you could use Linux which is what Mac OS actually is in the end.
  4. My oldest PC's have all lasted over a decade. None of the parts have died, however some have been upgraded because I needed more performance. My oldest Laptop is 13 years old and not a single part was changed. Only the RAM was upgraded to 576MB because 64MB just doesn't cut it if you now what I mean. I'm sure Mac's last long as well, why shouldn't they, but it's a false assumption that PC's don't last as long.
  5. Not bad, I'm liking the clean looks. If you keep on practicing I'm sure you'll be really good one day. Perhaps you might want to consider looking up a few tutorials, they usually show you quite a number of interesting tricks and techniques that may be useful to you.
  6. I'm gonna have to say PC, but only for one reason: ThinkPads If it weren't for them, I'd probably have a MacBook. I don't even like Apple's Design, IMHO it looks ugly (just my opinion there! ), but it's got a good keyboard, a good screen, a good touchpad and of course a solid chassis. So yes, it gets the job done and has all the stuff I expect from a Laptop. However, my current ThinkPad (X220) has all that and even more. It's got a very rigid magnesium alloy chassis, a classical 7 row keyboard (the legendary type like IBM used to produce), a trackpoint (better than touchpad IMO) and an IPS screen. On top of that it also comes with an SSD, 16GB of RAM and i7 if configured so. Mine has an i3 with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD allowing Win 8 to boot in a mere 5s. Most importantly it even houses an ExpressCard Slot, allowing me to hook up an external GPU (in my case GTX550Ti), thus making it 1000x times better at gaming than any MacBook. That might change with Thunderbolt in future though. Other Windows Laptops just don't even come close to that. Sure, there are some pretty interesting contenders, but none of them come so close to perfection as ThinkPads. I haven't really used Mac OS that much, so I can't judge, but I'd say Windows 8 is definitely a great OS. It fixes many of the negative aspects of previous Windows versions. Just my 2 bits.
  7. I don't really care. In fact, if I don't fall right back to sleep again I'm kind of happy because when I wake up earlier I'll have more time to enjoy the day. Sometimes I sleep until it's afternoon which sucks because when I wake up that late it feels like I have already missed the whole day.
  8. I joined around summer 2012, which is also relatively late but still before season 3 aired. I feel like I missed allot too, but I'm glad I got experience the season 3 hype and be there when it actually came out. To me, it wasn't THAAAT big of an event but apparently the whole fandom had been waiting for it for like ever. I didn't quite share their excitement since I had just only finished season 2. Equestria Girls must have been another one of those major events, it seems that's when Hasbro officially acknowledged Bronies which must have been a pretty big deal. I mean, I can really imagine how that must have felt, but since I joined long after Bronies had more or less taken over the world, I just feel like I missed so much. Better late than never I guess. I hope you still get to see your fair share of events.
  9. Nothing can compare to the IBM ThinkPad 600X. (from 1999) It's basically everything a good laptop should be, it even has good speakers! Runs like a charm with Windows 2000, I have replaced it with a ThinkPad X301 which is very similar, but just not the same. Of course, quality like that came at a price, some configurations cost up to 13000DM which is 6500€ which equals 8500$. Oh glorious touchpadless times...
  10. I chose to learn Latin at school and actually got my Latinum last year, but it was one hell of a ride. I'm glad I didn't choose to continue it in my A levels, it might sound like a cool language at first, but trust me, you won't want to torture yourself by learning it. At least that's my attitude towards it. I have to admit though that Latin is quite a logical and fairly simple language to learn. Probably the fact that you don't speak it makes it somewhat more difficult. Nun steh ich hier ich armer Tor und bin so klug als wie zuvor. Seriously, I hardly know anything anymore. I don't really care though. There are professors who can speak fluent Latin, it must be crazy. I take like 5 hours just to translate one sentence. Now German is an interesting language. If you are considering to take a closer look at it, you better be good at languages in overall, because it is one of the most difficult ones to learn. Or at least so I heard. I dunno, I can't judge, I already speak German. Which is why I can tell you: German singing can be OK. There are actually some nice songs. Just to list a few: Frida Gold - Wovon sollen wir Träumen Die Toten Hosen - Tage wie diese Silbermond - Irgendwas Bleibt Feel free to check them out.
  11. It depends, some nights it can take me up to 1 hour to fall asleep, other times I fall asleep within 10 minutes or less. My average is probably somewhere around 20 minutes.
  12. I was sitting and thinking of what username to pick. I spent like two hour just looking out of the window, trying to come up with something pony related that sounds ok. I ended up with my current name because I like Pegasi and "Companion" sounded neutral and started with a "C" too.
