Two swords, crossed together.

Backstory:

Raze got his name from his razor sharp tail. He had been very lonely as a child, mainly due to what others called his <br />"destructive nature". Many fillies and colts made fun of him because of this, which only seemed to make it worse. One day, in order to find a solution for his destructiveness, his parents took him to a martial arts school for those with potential for combat. They told the master, a former Royal Guard and an expert at all kinds of combat, about Raze, who decided to see what would happen if he applied that same nature with martial arts. When he was tested, he showed affinity for many of the combat styles that were offered to him, especially sword fighting. The master saw that Raze was not a destructive person; rather, he saw a colt with an amazing talent he didn't know how to control... yet. With permission from his parents, he made Raze into his personal student, and from then on taught him the many different styles of fighting he learned from his days as a soldier of the Royal Guard. He was first friend Raze ever had, and as he grew older, the bond between student and mentor strengthened. When Raze was a young stallion, his master recommend he joined the Royal Guard and put his skills to good use, which he did. He passed the exam with flying colors, and found himself a decent position as one of Princess Celestia's personal guards. However, as the years passed, he found he didn't enjoy his job as much as he thought he would. While the benefits and the pay were excellent, he found himself yearning for freedom, to explore life beyond the walls of the Royal Castle. His opportunity to do so would come sooner than he expected, when a fellow Guardsman, a jealous veteran who wanted Raze's position and was outraged at the fact a kid took it from him, framed Raze for stealing money from the Princesses' secret reserves. The evidence was stacked against him, and Raze was dishonorably discharged from the Royal Guards. His mentor, after hearing the news, tried to fight back knowing Raze wasn't that kind of person, but Raze told him no, saying to let them believe what they want to believe. Almost a year later, Raze has made a new name for himself as a sword-for-hire, and in his spare time travels around Equestria and the rest of the world to learn new forms of combat and improve himself.

Personality:

Calm, and quick to banter, Raze is usually easy to talk to. He usually acts goofy around mares that he likes, but tries to control it. He's also pretty harmless, despite knowing a lot about fighting... unless you get on his bad side. His overall personality can be described as laid back, with somewhat of a brash air around him. In a fight, he dons a more quiet and serious demeanor, but still retains most of his regular attitude. He loves making humorous references to movies, games, comics/manga, and just other media/pop culture in general, and sometimes incorporates those references into conversations, even if no one knows what he's talking about. He is a very open-minded individual, and is always open to learning new things from others if he knows it will make him a better pony. While he does like to travel, he also enjoys staying indoors just as much, especially when it rains. In learning different fighting styles, Raze has learned the importance of discipline and being humble. He believes that there is no such thing as "Number One", as there is always someone out there that is better than you. Instead, he strives to surpass those that are better than him, going through an endless cycle of learning and training, making Raze a pretty intelligent pony. When it comes to combat, he believes that a calm mind and a strong focus are the best weapons to have. He is in to video games. He does have some flaws: Sometimes, he doesn't know when to quit, at times disregarding his own discipline training to achieve victory.

He tends to use a longsword as his weapon of choice.

Physical Description:

See character image.

Likes: Games, martial arts, honing his skills, cute mares, food (as long as it tastes good, he'll eat it), money (lots of it).
Dislikes: Ketchup and mustard, not getting paid for a job, heights, thieves, extremely spicy food,
Key Moments:

On a dangerous mission involving clearing a nest of changelings, Raze had ended up biting off more than he could chew, and nearly lost his life. However, at the last moment before the changelings surrounded him, a flash of blue flames erupted around him, and a tall, powerful looking creature of some sort stood in front of him.

With a mighty roar, the creature tore up the nest and any changelings still left alive made a hasty and fearful retreat. In a booming, yet calm, deep voice, the creature -- who revealed itself to be a guardian spirit known as a Persona-- called itself Thanatos, and was summoned due to the "hidden potential" Raze harbored inside of him to wield the ability, as well as his near death experience. It devoted itself to Raze and gave him a pistol shaped object, called an Evoker. It explained to him that should he ever need of its assistance again, he must invoke the fear of death in himself once more. Now, Raze uses his newfound power along with his combat skills to complete his jobs with relative ease.

Thanatos's abilities:

Sword mastery

Megido: A ball of condensed magic energy that Thanatos can launch by projecting his hand outward. Once it hits, it explodes dealing tons of damage to the target and surrounding area. Powered up versions of this spell are Megidola and Megidolaon.

Agidyne: A spell that launches a torrent of fire at the target.

Makarakarn/Tetrakarn: A spell that casts a protective barrier around Raze, reflecting attacks meant for him back at their user. Tetrakarn is for physical attacks like sword strikes or blows, while makarakarn is meant for magic.

Magic Spells: The Ability Of "Persona"
Magic Spells: (Through Using Thanatos): Megido, Megidola, Megidolaon, Agidyne, Makarakarn, Tetrakarn
