Bow Diddle

The Down Trotten
  • No Not Cast Young Adult

A typical grey coat with a typical black mane. Theres not much to describe about this donkey. Expect he's always wearing a green tweed bow-tie and that incredibly beat up straw hat of his. Having a rather calm demeanor he hardly ever seems excited, panicked, rushed, or some other none such, pretty much as cool as a cucumber.

    Male Donkey

This donkey is a meander-er and has a relaxed, happy go lucky attitude. Rolls with whatever life throws at him and seems to be having a "swell" time doing it too. While definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed and being quite gullible, he has moments when he strikes a nugget of wisdom without knowing it . Hardly ever fast moving, the only time he seems to pick up the pace is when he's playing the bass or the banjo, even then its debatable. Even with his happy demeanor he has bouts of sadness, but as he puts it "Well sometimes you have happy days, and sometimes you have sad days. No use fighting it, might as well go along ."

His mannerism are a bit uquine and one wouldn't be able to say if its old fashioned or not, and if asked about it he just shrugs and says "Gibber, jabbering is just something I do I guess, I kinda like it though, don't you like the way you talk?", Hard to offended, often not understanding the insult or even taking it as a complement, he can be a bit dull as he's so relaxed and sometimes is quite content just standing doing nothing. Serving as a foil to his best friend, he's often getting Keys out of trouble and on a rare occasion into trouble. Cherishing his friend dearly, he often goes along with Key's schemes, partly for fun and partly because if he doesn't he'll get into more trouble then its worth for both of them

Likes: Drawing attention to himself just because he's a Donkey, the subject is slightly awkward for him, seeing how he doesn't see many others and he doesn't have a clue why.

Being overly confused.

Ponies thinking he plays the fiddle

When others get Keys angry
On the day of his birth. His father (a traveling cart salesmen) received the following from one of his larger fire breathing clients. A box of Dragon Cigars. Now one can imagine just how hard it would be for a Donkey to smoke such large stogies, never the less the happy father was thankful and kept the box at the very least. Now being a successful business donkey the family had bits to spare but, his father also being a rather sentimental burro emptied the box and used it as the new borns crib. This bizarre box would follow Diddle (he hadn't received his nickname yet) through out his life. As his desk, where he did homework, as a trunk to keep his untuned fiddle, and when he found the stray orange cat that would later become his all time companion (named Fiddle, after the instrument he could never play) it became the cats bed. Finally though the box, after all of its uses would finally end up as the boxy upright bass, that Diddle learned to pluck along on while he traveled with his father on cart trips. On these trips he saw a lot of different kinds of creatures, ponies, dragons, griffons, minators, but no donkeys. He thought it was odd, and though he always had a good time he always wondered where in the world were others like himself?

But this was minor undertone in his life. He would consider the day Fiddle found him to be a much more important moment. The story of how the orange tabby found him isn't a complicated one. Just one day a stray wandered into there yard, he saw it, he fed it, he named it, and it attached himself to him where ever he went and even if Fiddle can't talk he's a great listener and that’s sometimes all Diddle needs. Of course no story of Diddle would be complete without an explanation of his interesting nickname. Once again nothing complicated. He likes to wear bow-ties, green tweed ones to be exact, for no more reason other then he thinks they're "nifty". Having a interesting name, sometimes those around him wanted to give him a nickname and since Diddle doesn't come out nicely, Bow just seemed to stick.

Especially when he meant Duke and his band. He met Duke and his collection of band members (three ponies ,a griffon and a diamond dog, not including Duke himself) in an inn on yet another cart trip. Now here was a band of cool cats, swinging from dawn till dusk, playing that smooth jive till the cows came home, and traveling across Equestria without much of a care in the world, and it just so happened they needed a bass player. The discussion with his father went rather well, "he had helped his old..." well to use his fathers own words wouldn't be quite right. He even threw in a cart to help the band carry all their instruments. Thus the days with Duke and his Royal Royals began.

"Bow" got along just grand with his fellow band members but he really took a shine to "Keys" the diamond dog piano player. At first these two were a rather odd pairing and frankly they still are but they find that one can't really be with out the other and travel together. Not that they would have much of a choice, seeing now after about a solid year of playing and traveling with the band, they may have lost it.
Bow and Keys don't like to discuss it but lets just say that Keys may have seen something shiny late one night and Bow being a good friend may have tried to help him find it and in the morning the band was gone. Bow is convinced they just moved on to the next town when they hadn't come back for a day or two, Keys is convinced they were kidnapped by some evil creature. either way the odd duo are now traveling Equestria looking for their lost band and causing a little bit of mischief and having a swinging good time in the process

Hello DT! Bow looks great, just like his buddy Keys. There's just one thing I notice about him, that being his personality section. While you do have one large paragraph, and that likely has enough information in it, the length requirement for that section is two paragraphs. If you rework what you have there and add just a bit more info, you should be all set ;)

I have also noticed something about both Bow and Ben though. The links to each others' profiles might not work correctly once they are moved from the unapproved section into the approved section.

Hmmm About the links. Is there anyway for me to remedy that? I suppose I could put them into my signature.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today, I learned that everyone makes their own kind of music... and that Harmony isn't just about Elements. Here's to hoping Bow's song entertains others for generations to come.

Your Loyal Servant,
