Cinderblock

Young Mare
Eyes: Large, Yellow / Amber eyes.
Coat: Beige / Brown. It is actually fairly light, however appears a couple of shades darker and grayer than It actually is as a result of usually being coated in soot, smoke or ash. Most often appears to have black markings, though these are stains rather than actual marks.
Mane/Tail: Cinder's Mane and Tail are extremely thick and usually matted. They are very dark gray transitioning to black towards the tips. Again, they usually appear a slightly lighter shade of gray due to the smoke, soot and ash that tends to cover them.
Physique: Slightly smaller than the average earth pony, though not by much. Cinder is of average build for her size: engineering and the like acting as a decent substitute for more conventional exercise.
Clothing: Cinder almost always wears a pair of brass goggles with aqua lenses, so much so that she can even sleep without removing them. On rare occasions she may instead have them hanging around her neck or perched on her head, but it is extremely rare for her to not wear them at all.
female Earth Pony A ball of smoke. Cinder is a brilliant, but absentminded Scientist and Engineer. She often makes mistakes which result in unwanted side effects: usually resulting in a great deal of smoke. She also never quite got the hand of 'safety precautions'"I don't think that you're a bad... Look at that!"
Cinder has no problems at all trusting others: even when faced with evidence that her trust would be badly placed. This acts as a double edged sword - sometimes the individual may come to appreciate this faith and change their ways, if only towards her. Sometimes she simply has her trust taken advantage of.
She is curious to a fault: always needing to find out why something works the way it does.
Cinder is loyal, caring and overall trustworthy, though her absentmindedness can counter all three of these traits on occasion. She isn't terribly charismatic and tends to stumble over her words, particularly when flustered.
She also has a very short attention span if something that interests her crops up.
"It's perfectly safe. Probably."
Cinder is a natural Scientist: she simply understands physics and chemistry, she has no formal education in either beyond basic schooling.
Preferring to learn by trial and error Cinder pays little attention to the safety of her inventions, repairs and concoctions. Even when they work perfectly there is still a tendency for then to fail unexpectedly, have unusual side effects or most commonly: give off small explosions and large amounts of smoke.
She is always eager to help in any way she can, even if she doesn't usually think about the long term consequences of her actions.
Likes: Cinder hates being told what she cant do: tell her that something is impossible and it only serves to spur her onwards.

She dislikes large crowds and struggles to deal withe large-scale social situations.

On a more personal level, she hates finding out that she had been deceived, since she places trust in others so easily. She also dislikes large cities and, to a certain degree unicorns.Cinders father was a Railway Engineer and her mother a Doctor. It quickly became clear that she was gifted with both of her parents skills. As a filly she was as big a problem as any earth pony could be: constantly trying to get places she shouldn't and break things open just to see what was inside.
As she grew she started to tame these habits: becoming more interested in putting things back together than breaking them. She quickly started to show a natural skill in several sciences: despite constantly receiving poor grades in school - she simply wouldn't use the accepted ways of doing things.
She never took up medicine like her mother, though she did begin to practice a haphazard form of alchemy through her chemistry: mixing up concoctions and testing them on herself. She developed a poultice made from ashes which was effective at treating cuts and the like, and a number of unusual mixtures with curious effects, but the side effects usually made them useless to anypony who did not have years of experience of drinking untested potions to build up a tolerance.
She grafted her goggles herself after the first time an experiment exploded in her face: leaving her blackened and singed and rolling on the floor in laughter. They are the closest thing to a safety precaution she usually takes.
While her family live in Trottingham, she spends a lot of time living with two of her friends: one in the Crystal Kingdom and the other in Ponyville. Officially though, she still lives with her parents and sister in Trottingham.
