However, his approchability stops dead in its tracks with the fact that while he is socially awkward, and has some difficulty finding things to talk about with other ponies. It's also no doubt that he has trouble with the mares, owing a lot of his problems to his awkwardness. In spite of all these issues, if somepony does manage to break the ice with him, or the rare occasion he manages to break ice, he can talk for hours and hours upon end. He strongly dislikes brash behavior and egotistical attitudes, which leads him into his self-under appreciation that he practices in order to not develop such antics. Due to this, however, he tends to push himself too hard, in racing or in whatever he is doing, as he feels that he isn't doing whatever he is doing well enough.
Likes: Pop music, brashness, egos, narcissism, hypocrisy, cold weather, being treated like chop liver (or ignored), being lonely, mares who double standard, ponies who don't pick up after their petsRed Talon was born as an only child into a business family. He was a strange fellow who was often picked apart at school for lack of social skills and awkwardness, and even judged harshly for his wealthy family. Due to this, Red never really had many friends during his school days.
Despite the family shipping business, it was never in Red Talon's blood. Despite his parents' wishes for their son to one day be the CEO of the family-owned shipping company, Red never had the passion for such things business. Completely defying the age-old tradition of inheriting the company as a stallion, Red found himself enthralled in the thrill of racing at a very young age. Red's parents, however, felt that this was just a mere phase.
Red's success in racing made it more and more clear to his parents that he was not destined to be a businesspony. His stubborn parents, however, continued to fight his destiny. Red's destiny was sealed, however, the day of the Junior Championship race. He barely managed to take the win, beating out second place by only milliseconds. While hoisting the championship trophy, his cutie mark appeared on his flank. Ecstatic about his sealed future, he couldn't wait to see the looks on all the ponies' faces at school. However, when he returned home, his parents came to accept the fact that he was not destined to run the family shipping company. They not only gave up on imposing the company on Red, but gave up on Red altogether. His parents grew even more distant from their child, hardly acknowledging his existence. One day, things boiled to the point where they threw Red Talon out of the house, disgusted at what they have created. With nowhere to go, a race team owner heard from under the grapevine about Red's situation, and basically picked him off the streets, offering him a development slot for his racing team. On the team, Red was given a new home, a new family that actually cared for him. Despite this, nothing could replace the love his parents never gave to him.
Red, in the present day, continues to race for the team, but still harbors intense anger and hatred for his parents. Red knows that he cannot move forward unless he can get over the past, but he finds himself unable to let go of it all. He wished that he could have the love from his family that he never had. Sure, he could find a nice mare and start a family, but first off, he is not the greatest with the ladies. Second, he doesn't just want the love his family never gave him, but he wanted his parents to love him, back then, and today. Having not seen them since he was thrown out of the house, he couldn't help but wonder: have they finally realized the error in their ways? Will they ever accept him for who he is?
Oh, did I mention he can act and sing?
