Seamore Sandwich

Seamore Sandwich
  • No Not Cast Young Adult

He has a strong build, and is about the size of Big Mac. His coat is white with dark chocolaty brown splotches. He has graham cracker colored mane, tail, and feathering (long hair around the hooves, based on the Irish Cob).

Male Earth Pony He has the special talent of cooking a perfect golden brown marshmallow, so his cutie mark is a S'more. ]0|[ https://buffy.mlpforums.com/1bdf8b14c6abb4bab85b64acb3aecbd2.jpeg

He is a hard worker, willing to help anyone in need. He is also a generous gift giver. He tends to be sarcastic often with his friends. He is a bit of a smart-aleck. At the end of a long day he likes sitting in front of a fire roasting marshmallows with friends, although he doesn't like marshmallows unless they are in s'mores.

Seamore does not lie, at worst he "leaves out pieces of the truth." He is not easily offended. When he was younger he had serious anger problems but eventually learned to control his anger. Sometimes he can be a bit silly and random like Pinkie Pie, and he is often trying to make others smile. He does things in the way that works best for him, not the way others say he should do it.

Likes: He dislikes hot days in the summer, marshmallows by themselves, and being on boats.

Seamore Sandwich, the son of Seamore McCormick and Cookie Munchie, was adopted by his stepfather IceCream Sandwich who married Cookie, changing their last names to Sandwich. Seamore Sandwich was named Seamore McComick after his father, Seamore McCormick who was a retired naval officer, and a fisherman, who left his family behind when his children were young so he could follow his heart.

When he was young, he went to a summer camp but didn't seem to fit in. He played a popular card game and new magic tricks (not spells, illusions), but nopony seemed to pay much attention. Then, one time around a campfire, Seamore decided he wanted to try a s'more. He roasted a perfect golden brown marshmallow and the other foals saw. He put the marshmallow between two graham crackers with a piece of chocolate, took a bite, and in that moment his cutie mark appeared. Just after that, he roasted another perfect marshmallow, then tried to eat it by itself, immediately spitting it back out. Other foals were having trouble trying not to burn their marshmallows, so they asked him to roast them. He did so willingly, and in the days after that he would generously offer to roast marshmallows that he couldn't eat himself, making new friends along the way.

Many years have passed and now he finds himself working as a lumberjack, a choice made due to his Earth pony strength. For this job he has done a good amount of traveling as he sells the logs himself. He has also been known to travel to areas where different types of wood are more common at the buyer's request. He has learned a bit about other cultures in his travels. He brings home wood that isn't building quality to burn in a fire pit, over which he cooks marshmallows for s'mores. Seamore's friends sometimes call him S'more for short.

He has great difficulty paying attention, and therefore doesn't pick up on some pop-culture references, and he becomes distracted easily. Because of this he may notice some things before anypony else (due to his lack of focus on the conversation), but he may not hear everything somepony else is saying, although he does try really hard to stay focused on what others are saying.

His sister's name is Patricia Barbara Jean Sandwich, or PB&J Sandwich for short (she is a nanny working for a family that travels often). His mother has an identical twin named Cracker. Seamore's uncle's names on his mother's side are Chip Munchie, Crispy Munchie, and Crunchy Munchie.

He lives in a cabin north of Ponyville near the wooded area seen on the map of Equestria (not the Everfree Forest).

He is always trying different combinations and flavors of s'mores, his favorite being one made with cinnamon graham crackers and a chocolate peanut butter cup.

He has trouble with motion sickness, especially sea sickness.

The mole is important to both me and Seamore, because many of the McCormicks (the name is the same in both Equestria and the real world) have a mole on their faces. I call it the McCormick mole.

He pulls a rather large cart around, which he uses to move the logs. On the sides of the cart are two boxes full of equipment for his job as a lumberjack such as a saw, an axe, climbing equipment, an "ice hook" (hooks on both sides set up like scissors so that when a rope is tied to the handles it closes the hooks onto something to be able to drag it, often used for ice or logs), and a hard hat. He also keeps S'mores ingredients with him most of the time. He doesn't really need the hard hat because he has a really hard head, to the point where another pony broke his front leg on Seamore's head without hurting him during a fight in school when he was younger (based on a true story).

This is a Ponysona, even though I'm not a lumberjack, my job as a cart pusher involves a lot of physical work and heavy lifting (I don't just lift weights, I lift gym equipment with weights, lol). Both jobs are outdoor jobs, and neon vests are worn for both jobs. This just seemed like a logical choice because we have yet to see any sort of large department store in the show, and I have been told based on my appearance that I should be a lumberjack. I am good at roasting a perfect golden brown marshmallow, a talent that is wasted on me due to my inability to eat a marshmallow by itself without gagging.

Special thanks to Mad Munchkin, whose "how I draw" video helped teach me how to draw ponies.

Hiya, Seamore!  *waves*

Okay, let's see here...

Ponysona, hunh?  S'mores for EqE, I take it?  Okay, let's take a look and see what we've got, and what we'll have to work on here:

Hmmmm... the elder Seamore just up and left his children for another pony?  That's a bit dark for EqE; show-canon-worthy, y'know... maybe it would be better to leave it more nebulous?  Something more like "Seamore McCormick who was a retired naval officer and angler, who left his home and children to follow his wanderlust."  Would this sound a bit more acceptable?

At camp, maybe instead of 'but nopony cared', try 'but nopony seemed to pay much attention'.  It fills up a bit more space, and has a bit less of a 'salty' feel to it.

A cutie mark based on s'mores... this CAN work.  Perhaps if he then began using those same s'mores to help foster friendship, it could be seen as a more valid talent, so to speak.  I could see Seamore making a batch of them for the Old Nag's Home Benefit Bake Sale; making a plate of them as ice breakers at a Canterlot party - where they become a hit and help the upper crust realize that 'common' things can be good too; and of course there's always being the top dessert chef at any campfire gathering.

Attention Deficit Disorder is a specific HUMAN malady, and that won't work for Pony Country.  How about simply stating that he has a hard time keeping focused, or that he's easily distracted.  We try to stay away from listing any actual illnesses by name - but an OC can show any number of the symptoms of such.

Well, that's the result of my first sweep; check out/change whatever needs it, and I'll check back with you to see where to go next.  Excelsior, my friend!

(Patricia Barbara Jean Sandwich - nothing wrong with that; I found it quite a delicious joke, and felt the need to say so.)    };>

Changes made.

I tried to keep a good amount of the story as close to my reality as possible. Rewording the part about my father leaving actually caused me to make it more accurate. When he left, he left his whole family behind and we still visit his parents and siblings. Basically, we kept his family.

With the cutie mark story, I was trying to imply that it helped him build new friendships, but since you didn't get that, I assume most others won't, so I specifically stated that afterward.

As far as the ADD, I would like to have been able to leave that in, as I have ADD, but I can see what you mean about being too specific.

P.S. The funniest thing about that name is the fact that my sister's middle name is actually Jean.
