Terse Tranquility

Troblems
  • No Not Cast Foal/Baby

Teal body with teal and wine colored mane and tail. Shorter than most mares and a bit pudgier. She wears Light blue glasses that match her eye color, as well as her hoof color.

female Unicorn A dark blue pot of ink with an orange quill

Introverted but self assured, Tranq knows how to act around others, but prefers to keep to herself. She doesn't talk much, so when she does others tend to pay attention. She's a bit vain, often stopping in front of mirrors to primp her mane, or check that her glasses are straight. She is extremely logical, and can often be stumped by excessive displays of emotion in other ponies. She has a wicked sense of humor, which can often be hurtful to others, though never intentionally.

While she did grow up on a farm, Tranq has no skills with plants whatsoever, and often jokes about her "black hoof". As a result her small house has no plants out front, as she's tired of watching them die.

Tranq detests clutter, and as a result, in her home there is a place for everything, and everything in its place. Her floors are always swept and scrubbed clean. A simple spec of dust can throw her into an acute flurry while she whisks away anything she considers filthy. While she is able to get dirty when something needs to be done, it needs to be not inside her house and she feels the extreme need for a thorough cleansing afterwards.

Likes: Spiders, the dark, being wet or dirty

Raised out in the country on a farm with only her family around, Terse Tranquility (who also goes by Tranq) spent most of her time by herself, often under her favorite tree reading (the one plant she was never able to kill). She's always been fascinated by other ponies, and so has become a writer to further explore relationships without ever having to interact with anypony else. She decided to attend school in Vanhoover. Adjusting to the change of city life for her was difficult. One evening after studying for finals and being awake for eighteen hours, she had a stroke of genius for a story. She was exhausted, and needed sleep before a big test the next day, but instead wrote the outline for said story, and collapsed into bed. She didn't realize she had gotten her cutie mark until one of her friends in class pointed it out.

In school, Tranq was a beacon of knowledge for her classmates. Although not outstanding in magic, her other classmates looked to her because she retained information extremely well. She was proud of herself for this, but the attention made her uncomfortable. After she graduated, her family asked her to move back home. While she missed them, she decided to move instead to Manehatten to try and secure an agent and publisher.

While it was a large undertaking, Tranq looked forward to the cross country relocation. Due to her not feeling any sentimental attachment to what she owned, she sold almost all of it (except of course, her books and violin) and bought a small cart which was light enough to pull through her journey. She occasionally stopped at inns along the way for a bath and bed, but most nights she slept under the stars. The trip, while comparatively tame, inspired her writing, and she began an epic tale, winding together themes like love, loss, politics and war, and by the time she arrived in Manehatten, she had a finished product ready to be edited and sold.

She has since moved to an outlying town of the metropolitan area, where she works most afternoons at a local cafe. One that sells the most divine coffee and croissants. Recently she met the most amazing stallion, one by the name of Endless Music, somepony who she thinks she might be able to spend the rest of her life with.

Tranq enjoys epic tales when she reads and writes, which always inspires her to get out in the world. She will often take short trips which usually last less than a week around Equestria just to satisfy her wanderlust. However when she returns home, she always feels relieved, because she knows that home is where she is truly happy.

Her need for everything to be clean goes beyond simple dislike of dirt; she has severe undiagnosed, but clearly noticeable OCD.

While not particularly good at it, she plays the violin the pure joy of it.

    Spells:
Mute - Able to silence other ponies around her. Found one afternoon when Endless wouldn't stop talking while she was trying to play violin, she snapped at him while her magic was glowing, and they quickly found he was unable to speak. Lasts about 5 minutes, and has no lasting effects, she can usually only cast it under duress.

Shield - A simple spell that is able to block incoming physical blows

Her horn glows in a dark pink hue.

Hello Love :)

Tranq looks good (no surprise there), but I did catch one thing while reading through her bio. Mental diagnoses like OCD are best left to the "other" section, because we don't know how Equestrians handle the concept of mental disorders. Describing how having OCD affects her in other sections is good, but the actual diagnosis as put into human terms is best left outside of that.

I also noticed a type here that you might want to fix -> "she plays the violin the the pure joy of it"
