• Chain Mail

    GameytheGeemer

    • Age: 18-19

      Gender: Male

      Species: Unicorn

      Cutie Mark: A Knights Sword.
It means that he is naturally gifted at fighting and death.

Personality: Chain Mail is clearly eccentric. He often hangs around, watching everything until he sees something to comment on. Often he goes on tangents when he is talking to other ponies. He also always speaks his mind on everything.

When it comes to fighting, he doesn't do beating around the bush. He goes in for the kill every strike. He also is very much a determinator and in several cases an implacable man.

Oh, and there's the fact that he Loves to fight and kill stuff... Like honestly, he comments on his own killing and stuff, like a commentator.

Backstory: Chain Mail was born into a family of minor politicians with a hyper active personality. Needless to say, he hated the quiet and boring life he was expected to lead. As a result he got into all kinds of mischevious fun, like playing pranks that almost always ended up with ice patches and bandaids. And then, shortly after his 5th birthday, he saw a filly his age being picked on by a 12 year old filly. He immediately proceeded to buck the bully's teeth out. It ended in a bloody beat down that put him in the hospital for several weeks.

When he got out, he found that he had his cutie mark of a sword. Using their influence, Chain Mail's parents got him enlisted in the experimental military reserve training group. From that day on, he was mentally and physically conditioned to be a war machine.

At the beginning of his training, he was given a pet dog, along with the 100 other selected unicorns (as the experiment required the use of magic heavily Unicorns were the only race allowed in), and was to train with it and care for it each day. He started off learning basic hoof to hoof combat. After the entire group was a master at that, they were to practice every day but their main focus would shift to sword play. The same rules for that applied. By the time that the entire group had become masters of both the melee skills, a year and a half had passed (3 hours of sleep and 1 hour of eating every day, 20 hours a day for training and 10,000 hours to master a skill. 500 days, so about a year and a half)and the rules changed. They would be tested weekly on their strength and endurance. From there they would be grouped by their averages. Chain Mail was ranked in the top 10%, so he went on to marksmanship, starting with archery, then throwing knives, then hand guns, and ending with riffling.

And so, a now 10 year old Chain Mail and 5 year old Blitzkrieg, started undergoing regular sparring matches that were ranked for 2 years. Chain Mail stayed ahead of the game. He only ever lost to Silent Blade, who was #1 in the group. Regular training with other weapons continued, but those were hardly the focus of their days though.

And then, the live round training began. Each of the ten groups were forced to 'play' simulations of war against robots. These simulations lasted another 3 years of training, leaving Chain Mail at 15 and Blitzkrieg at 9 years old. Then, they had their first real mission. They were sent to the frozen north to survive a year. This is where most of the soldiers died. After that, there were only 25 of the 100. Most had died of hypothermia. Chain Mail survived, and hoof-killed like one of the animals up there.

And when he was 16, Chain and Blitz were sent with the other 24 trainees to the fire caves, an active volcano that was in the process of erupting when they did it, to battle the demon of hell fire. This was their semifinal test. The group fought and fought until the demon fell over, dead. 15 died in the titanic fight, leaving 10 to escape.

And then, the final test was given to 10%, kill your dog that you were given at the beginning of training with your bare hooves.

By this point, Chain Mail had already learned that violence was the only way. But even so, killing Blitzkrieg was the hardest thing for him to have ever done. But he did, and he was 1 of the 3 that did. He was tasked with having to kill the 7 that didn't.
