Appearance: Emerald Star is a silver unicorn with a green and gold mane and tail and darker green eyes. There is one piece of hair that sticks up in her mane no matter what she does.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is a star with three green flames, one inside the star and two on either side of it. <br />When she was a filly, she stepped in after seeing some young ponies bullying a friend of hers. She ended up using her magic to seriously hurt one of them, without really meaning to. She then recieved her cutie mark in defensive/combative magic. She has a lot of magic but it's unfocused and more combat-based. Emerald doesn't get many opportunities to use her talent and she often wishes it was something different.<br /><br />She does not really like her cutie mark, mainly because of the way she got it. After getting the mark not very many ponies accepted it and she became more distant from her family. Her parents were upset that it was not a gem-related talent and worse, it had to do with fighting. After a while she stopped caring what they thought but things are still tense between them.<br />

Personality: Emerald Star is an outspoken, assertive pony. She has a few close friends, but not that many. She doesn't like large groups even though she isn't exactly shy.<br /> She says what's on her mind, which gets her into trouble from time to time. She also often acts without thinking a situation through--but she ends up feeling bad about it later and this can cause her some anxiety.<br />Usually she is a fairly happy pony, but when she is upset about something it's bad (or at least she perceives it that way) and it's difficult to pull her out of that state. Tends to exaggerate the weight of situations, and overthink things. <br /><br />Emerald is prone to making sarcastic, snarky comments at any opportunity. <br />She has a bit of a short temper; if she considers someone an enemy, she can get angry and defensive quickly, which can be dangerous as she usually acts on her emotions without considering the consequences.<br /><br />Emerald likes to daydream and can be absent-minded. She likes making stories but never tried to pursue anything with it. Because her cutie mark is for magic she feels as though she's stuck with it and will not be able to succeed in anything else, even though she has not found a consistent use or job for her ability in combat-based magic. <br /><br />

Backstory: *Under Construction, I know it's lacking* <br />Emerald Star was born in Canterlot; her parents Crystal Quartz and Topaz run a jewelry business there. She never felt at home there, so she likes to travel an spend a lot of time away. <br />When she was a filly she seriously hurt a colt in self defense, because her special talent is magic almost only useful for fighting. That was the day she got her cutie mark. Because of that, she was brought before the princesses--they decided not to punish her harshly because she was young and had trouble controlling her magic, but soon after that she met a young bat pony colt named Spectre who would become a member of Luna's Royal Guard, and became friends with him. He defended her from some ponies who were angry and thought she should be locked up or get her magic taken from her, and that's why they became friends. He ended up as the pony she spent the most time with, though they are very different. <br /><br />She went to magic school for a while in an attempt to learn to control her magic, but ended up being kicked out for causing damage. She hates her cutie mark and feels like it's useless, most of the time she avoids using magic at all even for simple things. <br /><br />Emerald has a bad relationship with her family and avoids them whenever possible<br /><br />
