Appearance: Meson Bolt is an average-build, average-height, and average-weight orange pegasus pony. His mane and tail are yellow-green and styled in a rather shaggy manner. Both his mane and tail have two colors, a lighter yellow green on top, and a darker yellow green on the bottom. His eyes are a deep violet/royal blue shade.

Cutie Mark: Meson Bolt's cutie mark is the symbol for a meson shard, a crystalline cyan projectile with speed trails. While his foremost talent is writing, primarily science-fiction, his secondary hobbies include computer programming and chemistry.

Personality: Meson Bolt comes off as a good-natured friendly pony, however others will quickly find out that he as a skewed and even sometimes dark sense of humor. Most of the time when he isn't working, he's either eating, sleeping, or flying up in the clouds, daydreaming. He has a great imagination and finds inspiration for his books from nearly everything he sees. However in an emergency situation his personality nearly instantly averts to direct, strict, and decisive. Other ponies that work with him regularly would describe him as friendly, imaginative, and occasionally uptight.<br /><br />When Meson Bolt encounters stress, mostly caused by others' high expectations, he tends to freak out internally. Most of the time he does a pretty good job keeping these feelings to himself, but once they build up to the point where it's too much for him to handle, he can explode in a fit of rage and frustration, which generally causes large damage to his surroundings. He has been working to get a rein on his stress management but as of yet hasn't found a permanent solution.

Backstory: Born to very loving but rather overprotective parents in Des Manes, Meson Bolt was homeschooled and thus lacked basic social interaction skills. Instead of playing games, going to parties, and doing things that 'normal' ponies do, he'd choose to daydream about what it would be like to ascend past the atmosphere and meet the stars. It wasn't long until he began to write down these fantasies in his first story, which was published in book form shortly thereafter, earning him his cutie mark.<br /><br />When he was an older colt, his parents alighted to him going to a public weather school. This was the first time that he had ever been to a public school and was a big step for him, but he was able to keep it together and eventually graduated at the top of his class. Elated, he returned home with refined social skills, yet he still enjoyed his daydreaming more than anything.<br /><br />Meson's parents wanted the best for him, however instead of encouraging him to continue writing and learning weather manipulation, they decided to send him off to a large school in Los Pegasus to study science and mathematics. Meson tried to take it in stride, however the expectations of his parents and the stress of large amounts of homework, combined with the feeling of social ineptness, eventually caused his first mental breakdown. Appalled, he left Los Pegasus and headed to Ponyville to try and rest his mind. After spending several months in the town, he returned to Des Manes and began work in the local library.
