Appearance: Teek is rather abnormal. She is thin and sleek, albeit a little small, and her body is pure white. She has pale pink eyes with very long thick lashes and her mane is in an attractive short bob and the same colour as her eyes. However, her ears are incredibly long, and her tail is short and soft, almost like a rabbits bob, as well as being white. She has slight buck teeth, though on her they look rather cute. She has thick fur, not a coat like most ponies. Her back legs are very strong and good for jumping. She has rabbit paws on all four legs.
Cutie Mark: Two symbols wrapped with a bowstring (see symbols in Other).
Personality: Teek is quick and timid. Soft on her feet, she prefers to flit about and remain to herself than to make herself known-however, when she begins to talk, she can’t shut up, and she is too twitchy to be very stealthy. Her voice is quiet and she tends to speak very rapidly. She is athletic and loves to run, and is best at jumping sports (high jump, long jump, hurdles, pole jump, etc.) and archery. She is a little quick to trust and tends to reveal too much about herself in short periods of time, before she corrects herself and withdraws from society again. She tires quickly and cannot sustain heavy work for long periods of time, though she can run a fair distance. Her emotions are to the extremes-she’s usually either very happy or very depressed, and she is emotional (this isn’t helped by her amazing hearing-she tends to over-analyze any comments that could even be related to her and then overreacts).
Backstory: Teek was born in the poorest sector Violi, where her mother died in childbirth due to the lack of sanitary tools. Her father turned his daughter away in disgust, dumping her at an overcrowded orphanage. Everyone was always gawking at Teek’s ears-they were a source of teasing in her school as a child, and she was often abused by anyone that saw her (Violi is not known for its open-minded people). She showed no aptitude for being a member of the army as a child, being bad at sword-fighting and the like, though she later began to show hope as a scout due to her amazing running and her fair bow skills.
Glad to have found her niche at last, Teek poured her efforts into getting into one of the finest military schools in the land, hoping to achieve an officer position that required less fighting and more commanding. To her horror, however, a jealous classmate spread the seed that she wasn’t a real pony, rather some mutant from Decarth. Anyone not of pure pony blood was not welcome in Violi, especially not in its commanding army, and she was not only thrown out of the running but placed on trial for being a traitor to her kind.
The end of the trial was, of course, unfair and not in the favour of Teek, and she was banished from Violi, intended to be shipped off to Slavek to learn to be some sort of handmaiden or something like that (ponies in Delirium would be happy to buy a “fashionable” mutated slave, and Violi would get a cut of the profits for supplying one-they sold at a very high price.) In blind fear and rage, Teek used her running skills to their finest and fled the orphanage, slipping past her guards that night.
The guards were put to death, and a plan was hatched by a up-and-coming pony named Silas to capture her. (See Other for a link to Silas’ profile.) If she was caught in another territory and proven not to be mutated, which she obviously wasn’t, then Violi would be a laughingstock- they could not make the escape public. However, if they could mutate her before her eventual capture, not only would they have a mutant on hand, but she would be unlike any before, and Violi could erase the escape from their history. Even if the fact that she slipped from their grasp did leak, it was okay-they could paint her up as incredibly dangerous.
Due to her long ears, it was fast to find her. She was taken to a small laboratory in the north part of the province, and the famous scientist Valour, head of the avia and 242 projects in Industrios, managed to fuse her DNA with that of a rabbit, successfully creating a rabbit mutant, something cutesy and desirable and not overly dangerous, unlike his other experiments (see Other for details on the avia and 242 project).
Teek was then sent to Slavek despite her second escape attempt, and there she remains, hoping to escape to the warm summer lands of Decarth, where mutants are welcomed. She has since changed her name to Recurve, a reference to archery, generally referring to herself as thus in order to forget and to hide her embarrassing past.
