Personality: <p> He can be summed up in a single word: arrogant.  Nova was born and raised to be the most powerfull pony possible, as his mission was the defeat of Celestia.  He can be condescending to non-magic users, and ever to normal unicorns.  His belief in his own superiority can get him into trouble, but brute force and powerful dark magic usually gets things his way. </p>

Backstory: <p> A thousand years ago, Luna became Nightmare Moon and attempted to overthrow her sister, Celestia.  Not all ponies were terrified of her, however.  A small group of unicorns came to worship her as their goddess.  They attempted to force Celestia to return her from the moon, but were defeated.  Celestia then banished the group from Equestria, forcing them out into the wastelands.  Forming their own little community, the Nightmare Adepts, they spent the next several centuries practicing dark magic and searching for a way to bring their goddess's return.  Coming to the conclusion that defeat of Celestia was the only way, the witches (as they came to be known) began a breeding program with the goal of creating an alicorn that could stand against Celestia.  Finally, after centuries of trying, a male alicorn was born.  He was raised by the Adepts to worship Nightmare Moon, and was taught to use the dark magic he was born with.  As per his role to defeat the Sun Princess, the witches named him Nova, the End of Stars. </p> <p> After they learned of Luna's restoration, a plan was formed to take advantage of the situation.  Nova would be sent to Equestria to defeat Celestia and bring Luna to the adepts, who would combine their powers together and force her to revert back to Nightmare Moon once again, and bring Eternal Night to Equestria forever.... </p>
