• Null

    Blitz Boom

    • Age: 26

      Gender: Female

      Species: Pegasus

      Appearance:
Physical things not clearly depicted: Null is a head smaller than a normal pegasus.

Anything of note: She's missing her right wing. Got removed when she were younger. Haves a small saddlebag with some cursed items her and Void have picked up over the years since they're immune, including a weapon she uses. A cursed blow-dart set that withers inanimate things like rocks and steel when hit by the darts.

      Cutie Mark:
A purple, swirling black hole going clockwise, showing her skill for nullifying magic.

      Personality:
Generally aggressive and in your face, overprotective of her little sister, and hardly trusts anypony, especially changelings. She is a nice, yet brittle mare deep down, but bad experiences have forced her to harden up both to survive the world, and be strong for her sister. Anger issues from several things, among them not being able to fly.

      Backstory:
Birthplace: Troy, in a local community of a few hundred individuals, 7 miles from the ruins of Eponsilon.

Occupation: None, but is a skilled woodcarver. Might come into play.

Special Powers: Like her sister, born with an anti-magic aura that is always active. Magic within a hoof's width of her dissolves and fizzles out. Magic users in that field have active spells on them destroyed, and their magic shut off until they move away. Curse magic is suppressed the same way as users, but not destroyed. Her feathers carry this aura with them if they are plucked or given out, and can be used as anti-magic protection amulets for about a week.

Backstory: Null and Void were born in Troy to a pegasus mother and earth pony father in a small desert community on the outskirts of the ruins of Eponsilon. Due to concerns about the foals powers, they were kept away from much social interaction since their early foalhood. Eventually they started to be around others with their parents, but in the magic-leaning local society, they quickly became pariahs as soon as somepony figured out it was them that caused magic to stop working around them. They were mostly left alone as long as they stayed away from others, until Null started to fly.

Given that their community was protected from the dangers of the desert (Burning winds, stone crabs, sand scorpions, bandits, etc.) by a magical field they feared that the shed feathers could disrupt or even break the shield enchantment. At age six a particularly fanatic group captured her and intended to keep her grounded by clipping the tips of her feathers, but something went wrong. Things got pretty hectic, and it ended in not only Null completely losing one of her wings, but it also caused her sister, Void, to lose a leg as she stumbled in on the chaotic scene. Their parents arrived, naturally horrified at what they saw, as well as how the regular citizens didn't seem too bothered by it. In fact, they seemed to think that Null being permanently grounded was a good thing. This made their parents absolutely livid, yelling that they were going to pay for this before taking their injured children home to care for and console them as best as they could. Three days later, with Null ranging between rage and depression over not being able to fly anymore, and Void constantly crying, members of the community guard came around to arrest the parents for what they classified as ‘death threats and unwarranted hostility’. The fact that their foals had been attacked were not something they cared about, and had dismissed as a ‘harmless prank ending in an accident’ which made the two see red and finally snap, attacking the guards and knocking them out.

Knowing where this would lead, and seeing that there truly were no hope left for them, they hastily packed a few things and made a run for it with their foals, heading in the direction of Equestria, and almost managed to get to the border before they got ambushed by the Grey, an outlaw organization that enforced their laws in the deserts of Troy, and the four of them stood to be captured. In a last ditch effort to save their foals, since reason clearly wouldn’t work, their parents launched a diversion attack on the Grey enforcers while telling Null and Void to run for it. Null and Void were scared of course, but they ran, barely escaping the enforcers as they crossed the Equestrian border, and have been running ever since. They have wandered from place to place, seeking a home but not finding any who would trust or accept them. They don't believe that their parents are still alive.

The laws in the deserts of Troy are as harsh and unforgiving as its sands, and the sisters were seen as monsters in their community. Being captured would at least mean a life in chains, or worse. Thus they were left to fend for themselves, Null having to try and ignore her own pains as much as she could and grow tougher, so Void would have somepony there to keep her safe and raise her right.

They recently came to Equestria, and stumbled over Ponyville after it got attacked. The city and country in general seems mostly okay with them being there, and after helping the town get patched up again, they have tentatively settled down in a small house at the edge of town, and try to integrate among the seemingly more accepting ponies in the area, though Null have been known to get into fights with pegasi that starts poking to her about her wing.

JEEZSUS! YOu mutilated the children & murdered the parents!??! What's wrong with... who does tha-.... wow! Geez! Man! That's pretty bloody violent! And this is the same world the childrens' show happens in!!?? Geez!! She had older ponies just standing over her in a drug-addled state chopping away at her>?!! Why isn't she more of a wreck?! Good god, I just... I'm sorry, I really don't like cursing but this has finally earned it... Fuc, man... that is... that is way, way, way too dark, man... that... please... needs to be toned down... that is creepypasta levels of disturbing... think this is the first case I've ever seen of an OC being intentionally harmed... and to a child too... I feel kinda faint now...

I mean.... magic just seems to be a "makes things easier" in this world, its nothing that tends to be a way of life. I mean... shit... you could just sweep away the feathers guys then resume your spell-casting... any feathered beast doesn't shed all that many feathers if it wants to keep being able to fly. And its just one filly, with small wings! She doesn't understand how much of a trouble it could be, yet the village immediately jump to gang-r... gang jumping her to mutilate a defenseless filly?! Wow... I... I don't see how your not suicidal after living though a backstory like that...You said it was just within close proximity to one, small filly...

I was going to say that I really liked her, since she reminds me of Limestone, one of my favorite characters from the show, but now I don't feel so well, I'm going to go for a walk now and maybe feel a bit better later.... geez...

Yeah, reading it over again, I have no idea what I was thinking. -,-' I toned it down, made it a bit more happy in it and made it unclear what happened with hers and Voids limbs. I'll go to her bios and correct things next.

I also addressed the suicidal part better, by adding in how she had to try and be tough for Void's sake, though as you can imagine, there's a lot of stuff rumbling under the surface with her after suppressing things all these years. Not just anger.

Heh, okay, alot better. I might delete my previous comment if I learn how to, but maybe it's better to leave it up as monument to my overreaction.

It might be a bit of a black mark to make characters orphans, but I think that's pretty good. Parents are missing... sooo, yeh, they're likely dead. I can certainly sympathize with her now! I'm sure most kids don't take to drama to well or healing after the fact & no doubt that would leave an impact on later development too!
