Appearance: Total Neon appears as an earth pony with a medium grey coat, she would be nothing out of the ordinary if it were not for her striking mane. Her mane is simple in style, but glows with vibrant neon colours. Neon's mane is so bright, in the dark it provides a substantial amount of light.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is three circles, one large, one medium, and one small. They are each made up of multiple neon colours and overlap one another. It represents the Neon gas element.

Personality: Total Neon (often referred to as "Neon") is a shy, quiet pony who prefers the solitary life, although she does enjoy being around other ponies despite her introverted nature. <br /><br />At night she goes for strolls to observe nature and take in the quietness of the world, she sometimes paints scenery in the moonlight but rarely shows her art to other ponies.<br /><br />Neon dislikes music and loud noises, and finds loud ponies bothersome. Being a polite and timid pony however, she tries to get along with everypony.<br /><br />Neon spent a lot of her childhood reading pony tales, and as such has an extensive knowledge of folklore and myths. In most other areas of study, however, she knows little. It is not uncommon for her to misunderstand things other ponies might talk about.

Backstory: Total Neon was raised by a pair of club owners. She grew up surrounded by the city nightlife, flashing lights, flailing pony bodies, and above it all, the ever present, obnoxiously loud club music. And she hated it.<br /><br />Total Neon's childhood home was in the upper floors of the club her parents ran. At night, a normal pony would find it hard to concentrate on anything even above the club rooms, but Neon forced herself to concentrate on books during her only time awake, which was always during the night. Her parents ran a very successful club, and made a lot of money. Despite this, Neon did not receive anything from her parents other than food and an average weekly allowance.<br /><br />Neon spent most of her childhood alone, her parents spent most of their time in their private lounge with other club enthusiasts. There were few children in Neon's childhood due to her abnormal sleeping pattern, sleeping by day and trying to read by night.<br /><br />Neon's parents, while not abusive, were quite negligent. As a result, Neon grew up to be an independent individual raised on pony tales. The money her parents gave her was spent mostly on new pony tales to read.<br /><br />Many of her stories told of far away lands with lakes and hills and forests and mountains, where all things magical lived. As Neon grew up, she longed to visit the countryside and get away from the concrete, light polluted city.<br /><br />At ages 7, and again at 12, Neon attempted to run away from home and into the countryside. Both times she returned home on her own account after realising that her plans simply did not fall through- usually due to insufficient funds. After her second attempt to run away, Neon stopped buying books with her pocket money and instead saved it for a time when she could get away forever.<br /><br />Finally, when she reached the age of 19, she had horded enough money from her allowance, selling her old books, and from a small job she did at a local store, to finally realise her dream. She purchased a small home in Ponyville and a one way train ticket, and she never looked back.
