Appearance: Slightly taller than most mares. Has light blue eyes. A butter yellow coat. A spiky mane and tail colored dark red and crimson. Occasionally wears a black suit with a red tie. Wears contacts or red glasses.

Cutie Mark: The communist symbol. Trotsky is a former politician and author known for his revolutionary ideals that are about standing up for the opressed. He got his cutie mark when he was 8 after defending a young Roseluck from a group of rich unicorns (including a young Blueblood) bullying her for her race and being poor.

Personality: Trotsky is quite an intellectual with a love for arts, sci fi and politics. He's very nice to have around and tries to keep things lively. He has a fear of bugs and his a bit of an explosive temper. When facing an adversary, he always has to give out a 'reason you suck' speech to silence his opponents. <br /><br />Trotsky is quite skeptical against the effectiveness of the four monarchs. He rejects their divinity with valid claims, refuses to bow down to them and accuses them of stagnating pony society from evolving. He does not outright hate the alicorns however and actually appreciates how they put the will of the people before their own. The monarchs themselves actually view Trotsky's attitude toward them as a refreshing change from constant worship.<br /><br />Trotsky also adheres to his own political views called Trotskyism. It is a mix of individualism and real life socialism.<br /><br />He only uses offensive magic as a last resort.<br /><br />He likes listening to Hardcore Punk (which is viewed as Taboo in Equestria) and can play swing music fluently.<br /><br />His best friends are Dr Whooves (who he shared an adventure with to inspire one of his sci fi novels) and Noteworthy before he moved to Ponnyville to play music.

Backstory: Trotsky's family immigrated from Stalliongrad when he was young colt. His family was able to move into Canterlot and enroll Trotsky in a school for gifted unicorns after Trotsky scored extremely high on his entrance exams (only a certain purple unicorn scored higher than him). His father Marx and his mother Rand were both former government officials in Stalliongrad and frequently debated their political views. This prompted Trotsky to start creating his own system that married socialism and individualism that he happily called 'Trotskyism'.<br /><br />While learning magic and literature in school, he began to see the injustices committed by society. Trotsky could not believe how Celestia could preach love and tolerance and then live in a society where the nobles looked down upon and criticized the workers of Equestria, how Equestria itself was xenophobic to Griffins, Mules and all the other non ponies and how ponies were blindly worshipping a Princess without question.<br /><br />When Trotsky graduated school with a degree in writing and politics, he was given the chance to be one of Celestia's personal advisors due to his sharp tact and wit. Trotsky naturally agreed to the offer despite his views. During this time, Trotsky secretly studied offensive magic and wrote two science fiction novels that were insanely popular amongst the populace making him one of the youngest best selling authors in the land. He also met and grew a crush on Twilight Sparkle, his biggest fan, while working with the princess even though the two hardly interacted.<br /><br />When he was 20, he wrote a novel called 'The age of reason" that was released all across equestria. The book discussed all the injustices practiced by the Theocracy as well as remarks refuting Celestia's omnipotence. His book was a major hit (with even Celestia secretly praising it) and attracted a lot of controversy. Trotsky was immediately accused of treason by many Ponies loyal to Celestia and his writings were banned in areas fiercely loyal to the crown like Ponyville and Canterlot.<br /><br />He proceeded to move to Fillydeplhia where he continued his career in writing and was finally able to publish his works on Trotskyism across Equestria. His ideology became popular amongst intellectuals and he has been credited with being the youngest revolutionary ever known. The anti establishment figure continues to write works on his ideology, criticizing the theocracy and writing Sci Fi or Dystopian fiction. He occasionally revisits Canterlot to meet with political allies or crush his opponents.
