~ Dr. Ocsid ~ 690 June 26, 2014 Share June 26, 2014 This headcanon is based on that one. Read there first. Here is a little headcanon-spin-off that came across my mind after writing down that other headcanon. When an Oracle gets corrupted by using to much of its powers, and it doesn´t get reformed in time, what happens? Does it turn into an Avatar? So here is my headcanon about how Luna´s live would have gone if she had defeated her sister as Nightmare Moon. Pre-Oracle Luna As foals, Luna and her sisters lived happily in their Alicorn Clan. When they got their Cutie Marks, they were trained by other powerfull Alicorns to wield the powers of Day and Night. When they reached a certain level of power, they became the Oracles of Sun and Moon, and rose up against Discord. "Normal" Luna The Luna we know and love. But, as we know, she grows bitter because nopony seems to like her night. Therefore, she uses her powers of the night at an risky level, and gets corrupted. Nightmare Moon After defeating her sister, she rules for a time in a tyranical reign of Darkness. She uses her magic more and more, until she realizes, what she did. Artemis After she realizes what she has done, she runs into the wild, not being evil anymore. Normality comes back for the Ponys of Equestria, at least how normal it could be without the Princesses. Nothing is heard of Artemis for a long time, just roumors that something dark and mysterious, something powerfull and dangerous is roaming the Everfree. But when isn´t? In this phase, she could easily come back and turned back to her being as Luna. But when she glances out of the Forest, where she hides from herself, she can´t take a breath, so sharp is the regret she has. Regret turns to anger, and she thinks about punishing them all in their dreams with their greatest terrors. At this moment, the sadness returns, and she keeps herself back, returning to her darkness. And there, in the Darkness, she embraces Night, and Night embraces her. Her personality twists, her mind turns, her heart darkens with shadows and brightens with moonlight, until she is Night herself. Nyx Now she is Night, and she spreads the Night around her. She has become the Avatar of Night, as powerfull as Discord. She is the Night, the wonderfull, starlit, moonlit, calming cool Night. She is the Night, the terrifying screech from a bat on the hunt, the creepy howl of wolves, the One Who Is Feared. She is the Night, the deep, abyssal, embracing Night. She is Night in all its wondefull, horrifying, mysterious facettes. But she isn´t Luna anymore. She is the Night. What do you think?
Malinter 3,064 June 26, 2014 Share June 26, 2014 (edited) The comics imply that some other Force twisted Luna to make her into Nightmare Moon and that even separated as an independent entity, it has learned to mimic Luna's Dreamwalking ability, **Interesting note, the 'Nightmare Forces' are disembodied and corrupted creatures, Much like Sombra became and I know there are headcannons that he became corrupted in a similiar way. Are the comics canon? I personally don´t take anything outside the show for canon.
Malinter 3,064 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 They are canon per-se in all regards except at points where they directly conflict the show or the show says other wise. (For example. Chrysallis lives, until the show says she's died from being punted out of Canterlot for example) My OC's: Malinter, Rahl, Vengeful impact & alias-the-marked-one First fic i've written since forever here Skype: Malinter@Outlook.com "Defeating a sandwich only makes it tastier." most legendary quote ever. In my opinion, the definition is the other way round: Something that is uncanon in at least one point is therefore completely uncanon. The only way to make something with such conflicts canon, is if something from the comics is mentioned in the show. Just my opinion.
