Making Art from Scratch; Feedback Appreciated

So I'm going to be using this thread to post my WIP Pony artwork. I've done quite a bit of it, but that has used bases, and with the experience from that I'm beginning to work on making ponies from scratch. And therefore, I need help to make sure I'm doing it right. Art I've done is here and the art I'm currently making is this:

 

Ignore the glaring omission of tapered ends and the layering problems; I'm in the middle of just fixing the lines. I'm especially iffy about the head. If this doesn't go here, tell me, please. I searched the informational posts in the forums in Octavia's Hall carefully to make sure I wasn't posting this in the wrong area, so if this does happen to be the wrong area, I'd really like to know. Thanks for any feedback!
