Any other diabetics on this forum?

Hey, guys. As most of you know, I'm diabetic, Type 1 to be exact. For the entirety of last week, I was with diabetic kids and teenagers, and I made quite a few friends there, one of whom I have their number. ;)
Anyway, spending my week with diabetics has got me thinking: Are there any diabetics on this forum? I haven't heard of anyone else who has diabetes, whether it'd be Type 1 or 2.

If anyone's diabetic, feel free to comment on this thread.

Hypoglycemic myself. Its not bad, but I can understand where your coming from.

Type 1 isn't that bad when you get used to it, like I have. I'm just waiting for when I can get an Omnipump instead of giving myself injections.

I have lots of family with both types, so its just a matter of time when it finally comes for me

Technically, my oldest dog was the first to get it, but I was the first family member to actually get diabetes. It sucks when you're the first, man. :(

I always htought injections were the only solution. Anyway, it would be great if you would be able to get a better alternative and you get rid of those injections!

Injections aren't too bad as long as you aren't injecting yourself in the same spot over and over. It burns when you do that, and believe me, it stings like hell.

Since I haven't been diabetic for too long, I'm going to wait to get a pump, which sucks because I want one know so I don't waste 5 minutes of my lunch getting prepared, but still.

I can imagine that all those preparations spoil your appetite. It must be very tiring not be able to immediatly eat something when you want to.

That pump seems like something pretty new. They use it mainly in the USA. Looks like a good thing!

Anyway, I wish you the very best:)

I don't loose my appetite. I just hate using up 5 minutes of my lunch doing the work when I could be with my buddies. When I'm hungry, nothing can spoil my appetite. :3

Honest question: what does losing your job has to do with you being diabetic? Or has it something to do with insurance?
