HeartSong 2 August 30, 2014 Share August 30, 2014 Hi everypony, I've been working on these portraits of the Mane 6 for a couple of weeks now. They are how I imagine them to be as their DnD classes. I am NOT an artist by any means, but I've been practicing drawing ponies all Summer long and want to especially improve on these designs so I can make some DnDxMLP art for my apartment. I would love some specific concrit, especially on: 1. their class designs/details (ex. how I can make Rarity look more "bard-like"). Fluttershy is modeled off of an old-school Final Fantasy white mage with a butterfly hammer, and Dash is equipped with Skyrim gear. ANY advice on how I can add more detail is hugely appreciated! 2. How I would plot out a multi-pony portrait with all six together. I also want to put Luna in the front with a DM shield, but I haven't designed her yet. 3. General advice on drawing ponies. I try to make them look as much like the show as possible, I don't really have my own style and I've gotten better just by copying designs and poses from the books I have. 4. Facial expressions The goal is to eventually make a large painted portrait for my apartment, but I want to perfect their designs before mapping that out! I also have some close IRL artist friends who can help me with things. Thanks in advance!! 1 "A friend is someone who makes you feel good about being you." Silverwisp the Bard 2,354 August 30, 2014 Share August 30, 2014 Fluttershy's not a druid? Good struff you got here, looking forward to more. 1. their class designs/details (ex. how I can make Rarity look more "bard-like"). Well, the best advice I could give you would be to search for images of ponies in armour and the like *coughcough*maybestarthere*cough* In time you'll get a feeling for how to put armour/outfits on ponies. General advice on drawing ponies. I try to make them look as much like the show as possible, I don't really have my own style and I've gotten better just by copying designs and poses from the books I have. I would advice you start creating your own poses; it will help you gain a feel for pony anatomy and give your drawings more depth. 4. Facial expressions Google the expression you need, then draw it.
