If Twilight was tasked to help the CMC get their marks from Celestia....

Say Twilight got a letter from Celestia (or Discord faked said message to have fun with her) that told her it was URGENT to get the CMC their cutie marks as soon as possible.

 

Given that motivation, do you think she could figure out what their marks are likely to be and set them on a path where they would get that epiphany and their mark?  Or do you think anything she tried would be just as ineffectual as what the CMC are already doing?

Twilight already knows what their talent is thanks to her showing it in 'The showstoppers' so it's merely her bashing their stubborness and accept what they like to do lays in their cutie marks. Depending how stubborn they are about it, it could take some time though logically I view it will be done within an hour.

Twilight likely wouldn't accept. Either that or turn into a manic depressive when she hits a mental brick wall so many times she essentially gives up on life and friendship.

Well, she's a full-fledged princess now, and a growing adult (or young adult) mare. If she feels she disagrees with something, she should be man (mare?) enough to do it. Celestia isn't Empress Celestia. I'm sure she would understand (or could very well be testing Twilight anyway).
