How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I browsed Memebase in Mid-2011. Then i noticed all these pastel ponies everywhere. Finally i stumbled across the knowyourmeme article, and on June 18, 2011 i watched the first 2 episodes. The friday after, a friend asked me if i already noticed the pony-craze all over the internet. That caused me to watch more episodes. from there on it went all downhill(or uphill?).

Hi! I'm a German brony and over the past three years i was quite involved in the german part of the community(frequently on meetups, am a founding member of the registered association "Bronies e.V. Stuttgart", which is the legal foundation for Galacon, volunteered on every Galacon until today). There i became known as the guy who brings a bagpipe to meetups and plays "Winter Wrap-Up" on it.

 

 

Since now i've finished my master studies in physics and plan to leave Germany for my Ph. D. Studies(preferably for the Perimeter Institute in Canada), i sought out a platform to get more into contact with the international part of the fandom. It can never hurt to know some people in the area you're gonna end up in. Especially since in the past i frequently hang out with local bronies, and i'd like to continue doing that in the future.
