spits 71 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 (edited) Usually I'm quite fast in joining a Forum, but this time Ponyverse turned into a confusing obstacle course. For a newcomer who would like to be part of MLPForums, I found the Ponyverse a clumsy detour. Initially thought I was making a mistake, as I didn't want to join Ponyverse, I wanted to join MLPforums. Checked around to find where I could sign up for MLPforums, and then it looked as though I had to follow a detour of a kind. Then immediately after the signup process finding I had to tick a large number of boxes to be allowed into MLPForums, more confusing. Just thought I'd provide some feedback. The overall experience is one of Ponyverse first and MLPforums being a subbranch of Ponyverse. Whereas, I'd have thought it should be the other way round. Sign up with the Forums. Tick the terms and conditions first before becoming a member. Not sure how the two fit in, but maybe it could be useful to provide a little explanation at the time when the Ponyverse application screen opens. Jeric 46,851 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 I greatly appreciate that feedback. We have been evaluating ways to streamline the sign up process for some time now and have agreed on implementing a change that will hopefully cut one step out of the process. It seems there may have also been some confusion on why you were redirected to Poniverse. Perhaps that is something we need to review as well. I will share this now with the other staff as well.
Simon 4,557 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 @@spits, I really appreciate the feedback. Like Jeric said, this is something the staff is currently is working on to improve so the process is less confusing.I did, however, want to clarify for you exactly what Poniverse is. Poniverse is the parent site to a network of other pony related websites. Similar to how you can use your Google login to access different services such as Gmail and Youtube, Poniverse is a universal login for sites on the Poniverse. But, it's definitely a process that needs some simplification and fine tuning. Any feedback on how we could improve the registration process is truly appreciated.
