Kelpie

Kelpie - a mythical, horse-like being which is believed responsible for the drowning and deaths of many.

 

I drew a kelpie, attempting to make one that would somewhat fit in with the general style of the show. I don't really know what I was doing, but kelpie. Anyway. I was going to make it super demonic, but that's not very easily done with the mlp art style. Maybe I'll do a proper, evil kelpie later. 

 

Again, doodle to jot down ideas and just get it onto the paper. Excuse the horrendous mistakes errywhere. The mane and tail and general idea could do with refining... Maybe I'll draw a better version later. One day. 

 

I think it's a general rule of thumb now that if I use texta it's a doodle.

I actually had to go and look up what a kelpie was when I saw this. And I think you actually have a pretty good idea going here.

 

From what I looked up, kelpies looked like horses if they been in a swamp forever. I like how you did the mane and the tail. Are the red things mulberries? (I think I have the correct berry.) Because that's actually adds a diversity to it's colour scheme and breaks the drowning (hehe, pun) of the drawing that the blend of greens and blues cause when alone, which makes it a bit more interesting to look at. I say good job.

This drawing made me google what a Kelpie was, and they actually look like cool and interesting creatures. 

 

I think you did a fantastic job of transferring the idea of a Kelpie into the show's own style. Great job!
