Hey, i'm RhythmHooves, and i'm a brony.

 

Uh, well I guess I should start with how I got into the show...

 

It all started way back when I had a friend on Steam who hated bronies and would always make jokes about how "gay" the show was. I laughed at those jokes, but never participated in making them because I didn't know much about MLP and its' following.

 

I stopped being friends with him at some point, and I started high school as a freshman in New York. I made friends with this kid in my music class, who happened to be a brony. I didn't judge him much, but I did initially chuckle when he told me he watched MLP.

 

One day in music we had a project where we had to choose our favourite song, write about why we liked it and its lyrics, and play it for the class.

 

I was absent when my brony friend played his, but he said it was a song about Luna from MLP (I think it was a notacleverpony track).

 

He told me the song was about two sisters. One controlled the sun, and one controlled the moon. After the one who controlled the moon stopped being enthusiastic about her time of day, she became Nightmare Moon and cast the world in eternal darkness. The sun sister defeated her, and banished her away to the moon for 1,000 years.

 

DAMN. That sounds interesting! So, I watched the first two ep to see why my friend liked it, thought it was okay, and told my friend about it ,but warned him that I wasn't going to become a brony anytime soon. I didn't think of the show as anything special.

 

Then one day.... I was bored.

 

I don't know how the HELL it happened, but I marathoned the whole first season and second season up to The Last Roundup, the latest episode back then.

 

Theres a lot of reasons why I like the show. It's funny, interesting, has the cast go on adventures (I love Adventure Time, so the Mane 6 going out to fight Luna, save Rarity, "slay" a dragon and all this other stuff hit home for me), the characters have awesome personalities, and its----just. plain. cute.

 

I had conditioning to this b4 hand, I mean... I watched a lot of anime and among my favourites is K-ON. But typically, I hate girly shows like this. I appreciate it in shows like these where they flesh out the all female cast and make them really likeable. So GODAMMIT Lauren Faust, you're a genius just like kakifly.

 

If anything, I think what mainly got me into the show was the lore and how cool the way the pony civilization worked. It was the races, the cutie marks, the history between Celestia and Luna, and all this other stuff that made the show so interesting.

 

Eventually I found out about EQD, all the awesome music (LivingTombstone, WoodenToaster, MicTheMic, JackleApp, notacleverpony, SoGreatandPowerful), fanfictions (My Little Dashie, Past Sins, Fallout Equestria), comics, parodies (Friendship is Witchcraft/Doctor Whooves and Assistant FTW!!!!!!) and other stuff that turned my interest into a slight obsession.

 

So yea, I might not go out irl in pony swag and shop in the girls aisle at target ,but I love this show and the people who follow it.

 

P.S. My friend still doesn't know i'm a brony, since i'm still a bit embarrassed about it. -_-

Welcome to the forums! For once, I didn't tl;dr these long introductions. Anywho, welcome n' all that. Just a word of advice, stay away from Moosefullaeggs, he doesn't see new users as people but as things, and you don't want to know what he does to..things.

Welcome to the Forums, I'm pretty relieved that you have taken in the newer generation of ponies with a kindred interest. Back in my earlier days as a filly, It was kinda hard to grow up, when people knew you watched the first generation ponies, and occasionally ridiculed you. However in due time, It becomes an increasingly strong fad with those morals and songs clinging in your head, you learn to forget about the others whom dislike you. Making a lot of friends becomes easy, and in the end, those who know you and accept you for who you truly, are truly the dear ones to bond together for life.

 

I bid thee welcome to the forums. I'm relatively new myself being somewhat akin to My Little Pony before terminology like Brony and Pegasister existed to me. Alas, worry not, I'm sure you'll come to enjoy the company of your fellow ponies! Stride with pride, and just be yourself!

Welcome to the Forums! And The Herd! My story is a bit like yours. My "friends" (Heh... heh...) always say that Bronies are gay and make fun of them. (They don't know that I am one). I love all the music and FanFictions too. That's why I compose music and read FanFictions on my YouTube channel! And, by the way, Rhythm Hooves is a great OC name! I like it!
