Thinking of trying out element vectors

So as the title states, i am going to try doing a few element vectors. But i'd like to get some tips on how i should begin, since i'm a newb at it. I can do them on paper, but this will be my first attempt at a pc drawing; i'll be happy if i can manage to do at least one. This was to be my first one to try:

 

It looks like the easiest one to try, but if not can i get anyone's opinion on how to approach this?
