Welcome to the annual Ponyville Trading Fair!

You have opened a booth at the fair. You see other ponies' booths around the market.

POSTING GUIDE:

1st persons (I, me, myself) only. It's from the point of view of your OC.

At the end of each trade you make, you must post a recap of the Inventory, in this format:

Inventory (max 5 slots)

- Item

- Item

-

-

-

-

I shall start~

***

I finished setting up my booth. Wiping sweat off my face with my hoof, I looked around at my nearest neighbor, a grim looking stallion that had a fire ruby, a golden apple and a book for sale. The fire ruby would make a good decoration for my café, I decided.

@,

(OOC: My OC won't have a booth if it's alright with you, she'll just be perusing the fair)

Taking care to keep her horn covered, Spellbind strolled through Ponyville's trading fair. She had a few things in her saddlebags she was willing to trade off. But she was inactive and picky, so was having a hard time finding something she wanted.

OOC : Yes, that's okay XD

Double gazed on as she saw an approaching pony. She was wearing a hat, and kept getting stares from passerby. As the adolescent mare came nearer, she saw the thing which the other ponies were looking at: she still had a blank flank.

Giving a dirty stare to two young colts who sniggered at pointed at the strange mare, Double gazed upon her. She wasn't unusual, beside her blank flank. Taking care to keep eye contact, she smiled and said:

"Hello there! What can I help you with?"

She took out a well-worn copy of Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone and plopped it on the booth counter.

@,

Spellbind growled through gritted teeth at the sniggering colts, then noticed she had ended up at a book stall by not paying attention. She wasn't really one for reading. She had finished a trilogy once, but had kinda had to force herself through - she couldn't really remember some of the details.

"Uh, sorry, I don't think so. Bye," she dismissed, then walked off.

caliber, however, had seen the book, and dashed over. "is that daring do, and the quest for the sapphire stone??" he said excitably. "its the only one i dont have!" he looked up, and plopped a golden apple down. "huh. but it dosent seem like a smart trade to me..." he said. "you got anything else, to trade with the book?"

A svelte, well-dressed young adult pegasus, sporting a blue coat and a short, neat rust-red mane and tail, entered the Ponyville trading fair. He was dressed in a black formal shirt, with a pair of black leather saddlebags over his back and a briefcase beneath his wing.

With members of his family on business in Canterlot, he decided to spend the day visiting the neighbouring village after hearing about its trade fair.

He also saw it as an opportunity to find some rare treasures...as well as trade away a few 'treasures' of his own...

The pegasus glanced over to the...peculiarly dressed mare, and offered her a smile. He was rather curious about that hat of hers, but it may be a personal story that he best not pry into.

"Perhaps we may," he nodded, "I've just arrived, and am having a look around. My name is Dusk Waltz." He bows his head politely.

"Uh, Spellbind," the unicorn introduced herself, bowing her head in return. "So, by 'just arrived here', do you mean that you've never been to Ponyville before?" Something about him told Spellbind he wasn't native to Ponyville. "Perhaps I could show you around," she offered. "I don't live here, but I know the town well enough."

"I've passed by often, and my family tended to stop in for very brief visits, but I've never had a chance to look around proper," Dusk admitted, with a small chuckle, "although, I'm quite free for the day, so I'd be happy to look around more in depth." He smiled with a nod.

All he had in his agenda for the day was to get rid of some things, but that shouldn't take all day, certainly.

OOC: I can't mention with the mobile :(

Double Espresso nodded enthusiactically, pleased to have made a trade.

"Sure! I have a bag of coffee grounds, if you want them."

The stallion before her was still unconvinced. She noticed, in his saddlebag, he also had a book.

She said "Er, perhaps we could trade our books?"

@@Unicorncob,

"Then it's settled," said Spellbind. "I can act as your guide." She had a habit of pushing herself to be a Good Samaritan whenever possible.

"For now, what do you have with you, exactly?" she asked, opening her own saddlebag. "Perhaps I could take something off your hooves."

A smirk escaped Dusk's lips at her interest in what he had. This might just be easier than he thought.

"Allow me to show you," he reached his wingtip into his saddlebag and pulled out a small case, containing a strange coin on a small plush bedding, and a necklace, with a shimmering crystal heart pendant.

"This coin here was once the currency in an ancient griffin kingdom," he began, "and this necklace here, once belonged to an empress of the Crystal Empire many centuries ago."

At least, that's what that pompous auction organiser said they were. Those snobby rich Canterlot ponies had no idea what hit them.

@@Unicorncob,

Spellbind seemed suitably interested in what this Dusk Waltz pony had on him. "Where'd you get stuff like this?" she asked curiously. Rather than allowing time for an answer, she opened her saddlebag to show him. "What I have is more practical equipment," she said. "See, like these pipes, or tools."

Dusk opened his mouth to quickly lie about where he got his items, but let out the smallest sigh of relief when the mare quickly turned to show him what he had on her.

He nodded at her words, and was interesting in what she meant by 'pipes or tools'. "I see. May I see what you have?"

Dusk nodded, rather interested in the ornaments as well as the tools. The ornaments because of his natural eye for valuables, the tools because they sound like they may prove useful in his...extracurricular activities.

"May I see what kind of tools you have?" He asked with a polite smile, "Oh, and those ornaments, I have a keen eye for jewellery and such."

@@Unicorncob,

"Well..." Spellbind pulled out a couple of thick screwdrivers. "For me, these aren't really useful. I have a few smaller and thinner ones for what I need them for."

"And ornaments..." She took out some miniature sculptures. "It occured to me that these were just dust-gatherers. Probably not even worth much."

Dusk nodded as he listened to her explanations, taking a close look at her items.

The screwdrivers, admittedly, didn't seem that useful after all...however, a thin one may prove useful to keep on hoof, now that he thought about it.

Best not to jump to it right away, though. Besides, he was interested in those ornaments.

"And what can you tell me about these sculptures here?"

@@Unicorncob,

Spellbind held one in her hoof. "I just bought them on a whim because they looked pretty," she explained. "But they've kinda worn on me now... not really much use for them. And besides, I need more space in my home."

"So my stuff seems pretty low compared to yours, but... would you like to trade?"

Dusk gave the mare a knowing grin. These little 'dust gatherers' may just be more valuable than she thought. Plus, he'll be getting rid of these little 'treasures' of his, and his trail would be that much colder.

"Certainly, I'd be happy to trade," he nodded, "which of my items strikes your fancy?"

"I'm very sure, miss," Dusk responded with a smile, and put a hoof to his chin in thought. Which ornament did he want? All of them looked rather intriguing, not to mention valuable.

"Hmm, well, you seem to be a fine judge," he grinned at her, "which would you say is worth trading for the necklace?"

@@Unicorncob,

Spellbind shrugged. "Take what you want. Like I said, they'll just be collecting dust as long as I keep them at my place up in Canterlot."

"That pendant, however, seems like something I could appreciate more," she concluded. "Is it just an ordinary pendant, or does it have, like, special abilities? Like turning coats crystal-y?"
