Help and guidance with role plays.

I was curious about starting a new role play. It doesn't really have to be on here, it could be anywhere. But what's a general idea for setting up one? I was curious cuz it'd be fun to do this on like kik or or Facebook. I want to do slice-of-life, adventure, or fantasy. But I'm not sure what to start it as and good guidelines to follow for RPGs. I'm looking for a partner or two to rp with. It'd be cool to write and just have the other characters be acted out as such .

 

My problem and confusion is lack of motivation, time crunch (crazy family, depression, and job) , not sure when the other person isn't busy. I dunno :0 any advice? I think starting small so I can eventually write series is a good thing :3

A general idea is think of what you want it to be a about. A general setting, characters, what events transpire, that sort of thing. Genre's are always a plus as well.
