Tom Snyder 4,112 April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 I have been saying this for years, but nobody wants to admit it. Modern T.V's now have speakers in the back which is and always will be a bad decision, cause that takes away the sound quality. I had a tv with front speakers and played better than these ones now. Companies don't even have the brains to figure this out. The sound is not superior(Speakers don't count), its almost faint. The sound will play like if you got a weak signal on your radio. You have to buy speakers(which should have been included)with your tv for now cost; since your paying for a lower quality product. The picture may look great, but sound is not decent enough to get my praise. I can't stress this enough when they rip you off $1,000+ for this crap, its inexcusable and a lazy way to make such things. While some may argue that their the best, i do not; i only see them as a money grabber; a mean to an end. Now that I've said my piece, lets hear your opinions. 1 //// My persona and OC: Candy Star //// Ask me anything: Ask Candy Star //// My Music //// //// My DA: (OC requests available) ////
cuteycindyhoney 13,307 April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 My TV (as does my computer monitor) has really crappy speakers/audio. I have external speakers and amplifiers for both. Powered speakers for the computer, and a full surround sound system for the TV. 2 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!

That just shows how much they're slipping down the drain. Jonny Music 3,411 April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 (edited) External Speakers don't have to be so expensive. Which is why I got this baby for one of my HDTVs at home (These speakers are AWESOME! These give the best sound quality that you can possibly get without breaking the bank, period!): More info here: http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/speaker-system-z623 (This photo isn't mine, as I am only using it for a visual reference. I legitimately do own them however. Proof is right here). The THX Certification is no joke! These speakers sound outstanding. They got the THX certification for a reason! Jonny Music 3,411 April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 (edited) How much were those? $200?(just my guess). At the time I bought them (like 3-4 years ago), yes. They were $200 Canadian Dollars (plus tax). However, you can now find them for as low as $150 US or CAN (or perhaps less if they are overstocked somewhere). Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,520 April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 I don't see at much of an issue with it. Even with speakers in that position the sound quality never seems bad with my TV, plus it is an LCD (which I am not sure if it is included with this topic) and I got it for a little over $150 or so and that was back in 2010. It has worked like a charm with sound. My TV is also on a stand, one where it is 'suspended' so maybe that helps.

No worries. It seems that you may not really care about sound quality. That's fine. Tho for an audiophile (a person who cares a lot about sound quality) like me, TV speakers that are down-firing (or fire back to the wall) don't sound all that great as there is a HUGE loss of sound quality there. Which is one of the biggest reasons why I own my own Universal Headphones and the Logitech Z623 speakers. Because I know that I can much better sound quality (for any occasion) rather than the built-in speakers of the TV. But i expected better from them than do this to the consumer. 1 //// My persona and OC: Candy Star //// Ask me anything: Ask Candy Star //// My Music //// //// My DA: (OC requests available) ////

Some 4K TVs from Sony, etc do happen to have front facing speakers apparently (even when they first released them to the public back in 2013 i believe). But the RMS (continuous power) of those speakers don't look that good. You would have to judge them yourself by going to an Electronics Store, etc for sound samples.
