A little bit about me (you know, to make this look longer)

I'm 16,  I started baking around 6  or so, simply helping mum and helping her find recipes.. I don't cook much which I need to work with because honestly I only know maybe 4 or 5 meals for dinner and they are all extremely simple such as "pasta and cheese"  but I do a lot of baking. I don't really like working with fruits or nuts though. I can make quite a few treats but for some reason if I'm trying to make breakfast I can't do a simple sunny side up egg. I need to work on my icing, especially details but I'm getting better.

Would be lovely to find a few people who enjoy similar passions.

I'll share one of my favorite recipes!

Extra Chocolately Brownies

2 cups Flour

2 cups Sugar

3/4 cups Cocoa Powder

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

1 teaspoon Salt

1 cup Water

1 cup Vegetable Oil

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

2 big squirts of Cocolate Syrup

2 cups Cocolate Chips

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

2. In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt, Pour in water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract, mix until well blended spread in to a baking pan.

3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the pre-heated oven, until no longer shiny, let cool then enjoy!

For extra extra chocolately brownies spread chocolate icing on top!

I love this!! I've technically been baking since I was born, because my mum would take the high chair into the kitchen and get us to help knead the dough (she'd put our hands in it, fold it over then get us to pull our hands out, so adorable!!). I like cooking as well but lack the confidence.

bethie, I struggle with icing as well!! I can make good icing but I haven't quite mastered the control needed for piping...

if anyone wants, I can post a recipe for meringues :D it will be in ounces (I'm british and learnt to bake in imperial).

Lemon Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Adobo Chicken, Pulled Pork and Spaghetti are my favorites to make, but I still want to work on how to make proper white sauce.

Adobo chicken is brilliant in its simplicity:

Get some Chicken

Use equal parts soy sauce and vinegar

Add heat

and eat

Adobo can be prepared with lots of sauce or little, marinated for long periods or short, used as a finishing sauce... any way you can imagine preparing a chicken with those ingredients, it works and works well very deliciously. Apparently it's all the rage in the Philippines.
