Looking for advice on bannermaking

Hi there. I was just looking on advice to help make my art better. At the moment, Im trying to make banners, so its stylistic and imagery-based representation of themes in the show. Also, do note I am extremely new to art in general(I couldnt even draw anything 2 years ago), and am just doing it as a hobby.

What I do at the moment is to draw a design out in pencil on the cloth, then I paint over it using a local paint called batik, which is meant for fabric. Then I stitch in the sides to make the crisp boundaries. So if you spot any kind of imperfections, do point them out, and if you can, a method of fixing it. 

 

Also, at the moment I am running out of ideas of what I should do, so any of those would be appreciated too. It doesnt help to say, "Do one on Fluttershy", because its more theme-based, so stuff like "Fluttershy with butterflies and curling trees" etc, those descriptions would help more.
