Finia 260 July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 Just wondering if there was anyone who was really into My Little Pony when it first came out.
Blake of Gilead 140 July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 Techinically, yes. I used to watch a VHS when I was an itty-bitty guy that had two episodes, the only one I recall being "Pony Puppy".
Shanks 10,817 July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 I was around during G1, but wasn't a fan at the time. I had limited exposure to the G1 cartoon but only became a fan of that after becoming a G4 fan. At the time I mostly associated it with the toys that my pony crazy cousin who is relatively close to my age (I am a year older) collecting all those pony toys. She loved everything pony including real ones so much that she eventually made a career out of it, so I myself wasn't a fan from the beginning but I know someone personally who was and still seems to be. I talked to her a while back when she posted this drawing her daughter made of Twilight Sparkle and she is still into MLP and we apparently both AJ fans. 1 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
ScarfaceOne 263 July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 I asked the same question, but I don't think Bronies were big until G4. They didn't exist until then. 1 The only victim in graffiti is the architect. Graffiti is not a crime.

The interesting thing is that the creator of the original G1 cartoon actually said on record that she didn't intend it to be just for girls though she didn't have as much creative freedom as Lauren Faust had. Fans of the old G1 cartoon are one of the audiences Lauren Faust had in mind though when she was creating the G4 cartoon. One thing I have observed though is that the G1 toyline got more popularity than the cartoon when it seems to be the opposite now though the toyline still holds great importance to Hasbro. I am sure there were a few male fans at the time, but not nearly as many as there are now. 1 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
