Most likely. Seeing her appear in Amending Fences most likely means we're having a little mini story arch going on here about Starlight plotting a grand master plan.

 

For this is it: "The Big Finale"~

Spoiler for Season 5:

 

Time-Travel will become a plot point in the series soon in season 5. The "big finale" season finale I suppose.

 

Actual time travel business explained/bigger spoiler:

 

Starlight/"the wannabe" as you call her is going to go back in time and prevent Rainbow Dash from performing the Sonic Rainboom, which gave the Mane Six their cutie marks in the first place. As seen in the "Cutie Mark Chronicles."

 

 

Most likely Starlight is stalking and spying upon Twilight and (possibly in future episodes of season 5) the other Mane Six members to find out how to get revenge and something that will teach them her philosophy of a cutie markless life being the only way to excel in life. Because to her eyes, "to excel, is to fail." I have a prediction that Starlight will do something similar as Trixie did in Magic Duel to buy an artifact that can time-travel or help her in doing so. My other guess is that she'll find a spell. Prehaps the same spell Twilight used in "It's About Time"?

 

 

 

Starlight also might as well be the new background Derpy as of now. Now we can play "SPOT DEM BACKGROUND PONIES!" with her if she appears more times.

 

But in all seriousness with joking aside, I find it a interesting way to show what Starlight is up to while keeping her hidden in the background, for those of us viewers with sharp eyes can spot her. Nice to see the show is still continuing with Starlight and Starlight's clone wannabe. Showing us that "The Cutie Map" was not the last we would see of her.

 

Obviously season 5's big theme is Cutie Marks and Destiny. Same way season 4 incopreated rainbows as a recurring theme.

This looks like a very promising story arch.

Ugh... honestly I don't want the Season Finale revolving around Time Travel... cause there to much Problems with this kind of Stories... like who would have defeated Nightmare Moon, Discord and the Rest? For me personally Time Travel should be either "the Timetraveler themself is responsible for that they wanted to change (kinda like Twilight in "It's about Time") or the Timetravel creates a different Timeline (best excample would be Dragonball Z with the Androids)

 

If they really have Starlight Glimmer go back in Time, I will most likely just skip the Finale.
