Hooligan watched as Dark Shine walked up to the stallion, then he froze when he heard the stallion say he was her father.

"Oh goodie," said the voice in his head, "yet another pony who is going to reject you."

"You don't know that," Hooligan said quietly to himself, "I just have to be polite, that's all."

 

 "well aren't you going to introduce your friend here? I saw you laughing with him throw the window" Dark couldn't speak from the struggle in her mind 

 

When Hooligan heard this he walked up to the stallion, "Hello sir," he said while extending a hoof, "my name is Hooligan and it's a pleasure to meet you."

"well its nice to meet yo-" "why are you here?" Dark interrupted as her father was about to shake Hooligan's hoof "I cant see how my daughter is doing with her mothers old shop? It seems amazing what you did in a short time" "I've been here for 5 years as to this...day" "now your getting it. I thought I would have to explain for a second" he chuckles a bit "oh where are my manners" he turns back to Hooligan "my name is Elemental, Elemental Powers but you can just call me Elie" meanwhile Dark's small voice was getting louder and she had no idea why.

 "Sure thing sir, I mean Elie." said Hooligan slightly nervously. He couldn't believe how well this was going. After all he had asked Hooligan to call him by an informal name and he hadn't even mentioned the mask yet.
"just give it time," said the voice in his head, "he'll come around."
"So Elie, may I ask what you do for a living, I know Dark Shine runs this shop. Do you have a similar profession." asked Hooligan.

"Well no I don't really have a job, well a permanent one" Elie said to Hooligan "I'm more of a traveler than anything as I do my share of studying magic, meeting new ponies, helping around when ponies need it, its my thing" "yeah he's a free wolf alright" Dark added sighing "well I have something for you if you want it" "huh?" Elie set down his bag to where both of the ponies could see what he pulled out. What he pulled out was a sack that clanged together "your just giving me money?" "wrong" Elie pored the sack on the counter next to them to reveal a bunch of tokens "are those?" "Yes, there fortune tokens" How cares about those, there just stupid fortunes that could or could not happen. "where did you get them?" "You learn how to get these things after a lot of travel, heck, I know where to get a mask that looks like your friend's"

(wow,) Hooligan thought to himself, (look at all of them.)

"I know," agreed the voice in his head, "if we stole those we could make a fortune."

(yeah, with those we could live like...) Hooligan shook his head, (no we can't, they belong to Dark Shine.)

"They buck are you talking about, just take them."

(No. I'm not taking them and that's that.) Hooligan realised he had been silently talking to himself for a while now, "sorry," he said, "I was just admiring the fortune tokens. I've heard of them but never really seen them. Is it true they can predict the future?"

"yes but they need certain charges to make them work, pure arcane magic charges...but of course they could not predict the future at all as you just witnessed it and can change the out come if your not careful" he neglects to say that just seeing them could change the future. "So have you come here just to show me this?" Elie looked like something struck him and got a book out of his bag "the only spell powerful enough to get these charges would be the one on the last page and you would need at least a few minutes break after to not overwork your magic" "thanks dad" "well your a great daughter so how could I not get you something on this occasion...if you remembered there would probably be more customers here" "I don't remember dates ok?" She chuckled a little. Celestia, if you knew what I did you would not say any of this. That caught Dark off guard and filled her with a few questions but ignored them "Hooligan, how do you like my father?" "Your really going to ask that?" "Shut up I want to hear his thoughts"

"Well...um...jee, you're kind of putting me on the spot here." said Hooligan nervously.

"This is their plan, if you say you like him Dark Shine will say you only like him because of her. and if you say you don't like him then he'll never let you date his daughter." said the voice in his head with a wicked grin.

Hooligan ignored the voice in his head "You seem really nice to me Elie, you obviously care about you're daughter and that makes you cool in my books."

"books? You have more than one book?" "stop kidding dad, we both know that he was going to say that so why make a joke about his grammar" Elie chuckles a bit at Dark's response "look, I don't give a flying feather what he thinks of me as long as he likes you" "I'm not a kid, you don't have to censor yourself around me" "I do that even when I'm not around you" that got Dark to chuckle "what?" Elie was confused "anyway, we had plans to go to the movies tomorrow" "well then I have another present to help that" "is it another mystic item or a book of some sort to make things better?" "no...its money, I thought I made it kind of obvious" "you didn't" Elie puts the money on the counter with the other things

Hooligan smiled. It was good to see that Dark Shine and her father were getting along. It was also good to know that he Elie was accepting of Hooligan. Hooligan looked at the time and saw how late it was, "my goodness," he said, "is that the time."

"Yes!" exclaimed the voice in his head, "time to leave this dump."

Hooligan walked up to Elie, "it's been a pleasure Elie. But I'm afraid I really must be going."

"Ok Hoolie, just don't get you and your little mind friend hurt" "wait what?" "come on you don't want to be late for the date your having with my daughter by waking up to late so go along" Elie pushes Hooligan out. "why did you rush him out like that? Also how do you know about the voice in his head?" "I could pick it up with my magic. He's got a weaker soul in him" "what are you talking about?" "I mean he has a soul that ain't his own in that head of his" "what does that mean?...Do you know how it happened?" "I mean the thoughts and ideas he has are partially somepony else's...and I have no idea how it happened, I mean there is a number of options like, freak accident, done by concentrated magic, a relic of some sort, heck he could of formed it from his own emotions or something" "why would you say that to him though?" "That's a lot of questions but if you must know, I was just giving him a hint as that I know" Dark was still trying to put it together as Elie headed for the back room "I call the bed cloud potion" he joked as Dark followed to her bed in the back room

 

(I want to make drama and jabs of feels and plot later and why not do some stuff that will become continuity? Also we need rising tension)

Hooligan was a bit confused as he was pushed out of the store, "well I'll see you tomorrow Dark Shine," he shouted through the closed door.

"I'm just glad we're out of there," said the voice in his head, "Wait! Did Elie say you and your little mind friend?"

"yeah he did, so what?"

"So, do you think he was talking about me?"

Hooligan thought about it for a moment, "you saw how eccentric he is. He probably just meant my conscience, or something."

"You're probably right."

"Of course I'm right. I'm me," said Hooligan happily as he teleported to his hideout. As Hooligan slept he thought about what Elie said. Hooligan knew there was no way Elie knew about the voice in his head. But at the back of his mind he wondered if Elie did know. He also wondered if that was a good or bad thing.

Dark slept until it was an hour before she was going to the movies thanks to Elie "come one you need to get up and smell the rose made potion" Dark got up from her queen sized bed "isn't that just perfume or something?" "maybe the way you make it but I...get the same affect" he dropped the point as her daughter woke up more and did her routine. Dark walked out of her bathroom as Elie was planning something again, Dark could tell it from his face. "I went out and got you come candy" "how did you do that so fast?" "you take 15 minute showers and were in the small town of ponyville, how could I not get them in time?" Elie chuckled as she showed two bags of gummy bears and a medium bag of M&N's "why did you buy me candy?" "For the movie of course...also have this" he gave her a small pickle jar packed with small pickles "what the-" "for Hoolie of course" he smiled "I should tell you that I used a few charges of those tokens I gave you before I gave them to you" "of course you did" she started packing the candy and jar

Hooligan woke up early that morning. He showered, combed his hair, well his wig, and he even put on cologne. In fact he had done so much preparation that by the time he was finished it was 5 minutes till 10. "Oh my goodness," said a very nervous Hooligan, "it's 10 already. I've gotta get going."

"For the record," said the voice in his head, "I still think this is a bad idea."

"Yeah well no one cares what you think." Hooligan picked up a box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers and teleported in front of Dark Shine's store. "Show time." said Hooligan nervously as he knocked on the door.

Dark walked to the door "sorry were clo-" she saw Hooligan "oh its you, I was wondering why somepony would come this early to the shop" she scanned the pony in front of her seeing a much different version of him than before, with flowers and chocolate! "Aw, you shouldn't have...have this" she holds out the pickles to him "I also have candy for the movie and have no problem with disobeying the whole outside food or drink thing" "before you did" "shut up"

Hooligan smiled as he politely took the pickles and handed Dark Shine the flowers and chocolates. "Thank you for the pickles Dark Shine," said Hooligan gratefully, "and don't worry about the no outside food rule. I promise not to tell." Hooligan smiled again, he still couldn't believe he was going on a date with such a beautiful mare. "So" he said, "do you want me to teleport us to the theatre or shall we walk?"

"I think I would rather walk, its a beautiful morning and there is no rush" she said putting the chocolates in her bag...after eating one of course "while we walk we can talk about ourselves...if we do that then I want to bring up Elie a bit" she starts walking with him "but I want to know a little bit about before the accident, like where you lived and how you lived with"

Hooligan thought for a moment about whether he was ready to talk about his past. But when he looked into Dark Shine's eyes he felt he could trust her, "well if you really want to know," Hooligan said, "I lived in Ponyville right across the street from the asylum where I used to work. But I didn't really live with anyone. Both my parents live in Manehatten. and I never really had somepony special. In fact this is probably the first proper date I've been on." Hooligan blushed a little, "Now I actually had a question about Elie, what did he mean by 'little mind friend'?"

"that's what I wanted to talk about actually" she said putting her hoof in her hair as if she would run throw it with fingers again "he really did mean your voice in your head, he said it was like a soul in you that was not your own...he said he could sense it in you" yeah he can sense that stuff, just like how he knows I'm in you! Your probably made from my emotions then as I know nothing about some sort of magic that was cast on me/accident happening. Very true but I'll leave it for you to find out as I said I would not talk if this pony actually loved you...still skeptical but until I know fully I will just stay right here in the back of your mind. "also this is the first time I have been on a date as well"

Hooligan stopped for a minute while he let the information sink in, "I have another soul in my head?" asked a very surprised Hooligan, "I can't believe it. I always assumed it was just a part of my sub conscience."

"So I'm an actual separate soul?" said the voice in Hooligan's head, "If that's the case, I want a name."

"That seams fair. How about Bedlam?"

"Ooooh I like it."

"Bedlam it is then." Hooligan looked up at Dark Shine and realised he was talking to himself, although technically he wasn't talking to himself, "sorry," he said, "I was talking to the 'soul' in my head. He said he want's to be called Bedlam now."

"tell Bedlam that I like his name" she chuckled then remembered what he said about the subconscious thing "well he could be made from extreme emotion you felt, or the accident could have made it...unlikely, he could have been put in your head from a spell" If I'm a soul can I be named...Spirit? Why not, I mean if you want to take my moms last name its your pleasure I guess. After that moment in her head she saw the movie theater up ahead "this is a small town...before we get there, I wanted to ask what you preferred on movies. Like romance, comedy, action, and the like.

"Yet me think about that," said Hooligan as he thought about movies he preferred, "I don't really know if I have a preference. What about you Bedlam?"

"Slasher flicks defiantly," said Bedlam, "anything with blood really."

"I think I'm gonna pass on that"

"Come on you love slashers. That chick's changed you man."

"I'm fine with what  ever movie you want to watch," said Hooligan to Dark Shine, "but I could do with a laugh. You know if you wanna see a comedy."

He asked the soul in his head so I might as well ask you too about what genera you like most. Oh I love a good romance, not the ones with the stupid witches though. Celestia, I don't really like dark magic but I still know that's not how it works. You and me both. They get to the theater and see all the movies playing, including the one Dark was thinking about "well I'm fine with any movie that isn't that" she pointed to 'The Witches Tale' poster "I think I need something to get invested in so lets see the action flick" she walks up to the ticket counter

Hooligan walked up to the counter beside Dark Shine, "Action movie it is then," said Hooligan happily, "two tickets to 'For Your Hooves Only' {James Bond Movie, For your eyes only} please,"

"Certainly sir," said the cashier, "that'll be 10 bits."

"Hooligan payed for the tickets and was about to walk away when the cashier stopped him.

"Also sir I'm gonna have to ask you to remove your mask."

This caught Hooligan off guard, "I really don't think you want to see me with my mask off. I'm not a pretty sight." Hooligan looked over at Dark Shine, "tell him Dark Shine."

"yeah, burns, scars, its not something you want to see after breakfast" Dark agrees with him "not that it matter to me what he looks like" she smiles at Hooligan. This is the worst thing about being trapped in you, you know that. "its not like Hooligan is doing anything evil with it either...just like how I'm not doing anything evil with my dark magic and multiple potions that could probably be used to kill if used wrongly" she says unknowingly then looks at the cashier "yeah I need to watch what I say to not freak ponies out"

Hooligan smiled he was glad that Dark Shine was sticking up for him and that she didn't care what he looked like.

"Well I'm sorry but it is theatre policy. I can't let anypony in who is wearing something that conceals the face."

"Well you know what I think of your stupid rule.." said Hooligan angrily.

"That's it Hooligan kill him."

Hooligan was bursting with anger, but then he looked over at Dark Shine and something about her just calmed him. It was his first date and he wasn't gonna let some stupid rule ruin it.

"I think that if you want me to take my mask off it's your funeral. If this beautiful mare doesn't care about how I look," said Hooligan gesturing to Dark Shine, "the neither do I."

Hooligan pulled of his mask revealing his disfigured face. He put the mask on the counter and began to walk into the theatre. "Now if you'll excuse me," said Hooligan to the cashier, "we have a movie to enjoy."
