Hi, hopefully this is in the right area (still getting used to the forums)...

 

So I was wondering, when writing a fiction, are we allowed to include minor romance (not sexual scenes, just things like kissing etc) between ponies or does the forum disallow it? I ask because I'd like to a romantic fic' or something, I just feel like it! All the relevant rules are in brony-slang which I'm not familiar with yet, ;(.

As long as there is nothing suggestive I'm sure you're fine. Romance isn't considered suggestive unless it includes things like sex and inappropriate content. If romance wasn't allowed on here then that would have a huge impact on how this site worked and it's popularity. Just avoid the bad content and you'll be fine.

If you feel that it can be read by 10 year olds, then it's probably fine. I would assume hugging, kissing (if not too wild), and cuddling are oookay *thumbs up*

Yes but the person is asking about on this website. Anywhere else, of course you can do whatever you want. That would be silly saying you can't do it anywhere.

 

Of course i may be mistaken and misread the OP. I'm not sure if the person is talking about fanfics in general or fanfics on here.

As RKA said, when you're the author of a fiction you can do whatever you want with the story, but the forum doesn't allow you to SHARE stuff that contain suggestive behavior and beyond that. Whatever you write is up to you, as long as you don't go posting it everywhere if it's too heavy on the sexy stuff.

You would be surprised to know how many people actually read this, I do for one and I know plenty of others that do as well, so please. Keep your mouth shut on things you don't know anything about. Plenty of people like to read mature content pony fictions.

I occasionally read them when I'm bored and I don't exactly find them 'EWWish' like some people, it's just some fiction about an animated show, no harm done. I'd be able to write one pretty easily but I think it'd be more of a challenge to write something that is gripping with censored romance; plus that way I'd be able to share it with you guys! ^^.

I don't really read super gushy or sexual stuff at all if I can help it. If something happens within a story where gettin' flank isn't the priority I don't mind it, but if the relationship is the priority of the story I usually get bored. Pony or no pony, doesn't really matter to me. The pony+human ones do make me uncomfortable, I will admit, but I am just not a romantic in general. Edited April 24, 2012 by Squeaker

Anything that I have done in my 13 years of living is acceptable to put in a fanfic. In fact, a fanfic about me would be acceptable!

 

So yeah, what those guys said. Also, people can do whatever the hell they want, so if they wanna read inappropriate fanfics, then let them read fanfics! No harm done.
