Chicken looked at the controls and attempted to unlock the terminal. "Vaultec?" "Blubber Nugget?" "Pinkacola?" Chicken guessingly typed in rapid succession. "Aw who am I kidding? , i can't just guess the password!" He thought as he suddenly noticed a strange slot in the control board. "Maybe we can find a wire or something" He theorized

 

"Rye!, Did you find anything?"

" not much... Ammunition, broken pistol, 'nother skeleton" she looked into the overmares sleeping area. "Working shower, sink. Yeah just some random junk... But I have found some more bobby pins! " Riley said putting one of them back into her hair "much better..." She thought coming back

Chicken contemplated on what he could do next. There didn't seem to be anyway to unlock the system .Then Chicken suddenly looked at his gun and had an idea. "Let's try some brute force" he smiled as he aimed the pistol at the control panel and fired.

The panel was smashed open as Chicken shot it sending sparks flying "woah mind out! " Riley said "the thing's atomically powered. I recognise it... We had a few in college..." She opened up the panel and began fiddling her screwdriver around inside of it "can't see anything in here I need a light!"

"Lemme see" Chicken smiled as he rummaged his hoof inside the bag. "Yahtzee!" He grinned as he pulled out a light blue crank-powered flashlight. He began to wind the device's crank and let go as light began to emanate from it's bulb. 

 

"Here you go Rye!" Chicken called as he flashed the light towards the dark panel.

"Lemme see" Chicken smiled as he rummaged his hoof inside the bag. "Yahtzee!" He grinned as he pulled out a light blue crank-powered flashlight. He began to wind the device's crank and let go as light began to emanate from it's bulb. 

 

"Here you go Rye!" Chicken called as he flashed the light towards the dark panel.

 

"Cool! " Riley said flipping a switch and having the terminal come on. She sat down on a stool and read the first log.

"Fuck! It happened! The world's over we only just got all the residents inside still some didn't make it... Ahh well at least were not skeletons now to get these ponies into their pods see you! - overmare " Riley opened the second one

 

"Well that was harder than we thought. Some asshole was complaining about her sister... But we convicted him to enter. Now we just wait for the radiation to dissipate should be no less than 20 years anyway see you! -overmare" Riley opened the third entery

 

"Oh God... Were almost out of food. And it's only been a couple of months! Were almost dead! We won't last long... Time to take desperate measures... -overmare" Riley opened the fourth entery fearing the worst and a voice began to speak it sounded like they were nearing the end of their life "well *cough* it's happening *cough ,wheeze* the situation is out of *cough* control. The gas chambers have *panting for air* been opened. Lucky asses trapped in those lovely state of the art *cough cough* air tight pods... If one of you reads this. I'm going to go shoot myself. *cough wheeze* I know it's cowardly but it's the best way possible. There are two *cough* pip bucks in mantanence you'll need them to escape... *cough wheeze* and look out for the robots..." She stopped talking and two bangs could be heard one which was directed to the fuse box and the other the overmare's brain the terminal then played static which ended once the terminal went off again

"You're the asshole Mr. Voice thing!" Chicken continued his rant, pointing his hoof towards the recording. "Wait a second" Chicken's eyes widened, He realized something as the recording ended. There was something the voice said....something important.

 "Did..." Chicken stopped for a moment...

"D-Did he say "Her" sister, that Butt called me a girl!!!"

" too right my brother! " Riley opened up the door leading to maintenance "be on your guard. We need those pipbuck things and if these robots are anything to go by then we're in serious danger!" Riley walked around a corner a little too fast and one of the robots spotted her. It shot at her barely missing her hind legs

"Riley!" Chicken yelled pulling his sister to his corner. "What was that?! Are you okay?! Are we going to die?!" "what? " she said looking at Chicken "we could need it!"

"Sure,and I suppose You expect me to-Urggh-carry it"  Chicken grunted as Riley placed the fusion core into Chicken's bag

She picked up one of the pip bucks and began to read the instructions

 

Chicken slowly followed Riley into the maintenance room, as his sister began to read the instructions.

"Step one: turn the pip buck on" Riley flicked the on switch. "Step two: insert name and turn on blood scanning" Riley tapped the screen and put in her name and hit the blood scan button sending a small sharp needle into her left fore hoof she screamed in pain as it lodged it's self into her leg and took live readings of her heart beat and bone status. "Step three: don't die. Helpful..." She said angrily

"Th-... That looked like it hurt" Chicken nervously shivered as he heard his sister scream in pain. He picked up the other pip buck and turned it on. "Chicken scratch" he typed as his jittered. Deep inside he didn't want to do it but he also knew he needed to."Well... Here goes nothing" Chicken winced, as the needle pierced itself into his right hoof. "Yipes!" He cried and jumped as the pip buck stuck itself onto his leg.

"At least that's over with" He moped at the pain. "I guess now we just have to not die" Chicken jokingly remarked.

Or you will be forcibly removed from this facility." A robot said rounding the corner and looking directly at Riley. The robot almost fired but two bullets from Riley's .44 tore it's head off revealing two hundred years of rust and dirt.

Where a table had two vault suits on and the table had "put these on the robots will ignore you" Riley looked at her brother confused

By the time Riley turned to her brother he was already putting on one of the suits without hesitation."The Robots will ignore us! Ignore us!!!" He smiled like an idiot with a partially insane and nervous grin on his face. "We're going to be safe, Riley! " Chicken laughed, as He grabbed the other suit, "Here put this on"

" great... Now turn around... I need to put this thing on!" She looked it over "Blue and Yellow? Really? Who thought that was a good idea?" She thought taking the suit and placing it the table. "Here goes..." She thought removing her shirt and wriggling the first half of her body into the suit

"Riley we're ponies! The scientist ponies who locked us in here  didn't even have pants." Chicken argued...

"Fine" He said as he turned around. "This suit is kinda itchy"  He thought as he scratched his chest. "How long has this suit been out here, 10 years?" He wondered as he felt the suit's material. " When we get outta here we really have to clean these suits"

"Riley we're ponies! The scientist ponies who locked us in here  didn't even have pants." Chicken argued...

 

*Sigh*

 

 

"Fine" He said as he turned around. "This suit is kinda itchy"  He thought as he scratched his chest. "How long has this suit been out here, 10 years?" He wondered as he felt the suit's material. " When we get outta here we really have to clean these suits"

" objection! How were we born then? " Riley said poking her head out "proof! Didn't you watch that video on 'the miracle of foal birth'? Because it's basically about how we came into existence... Okay you can turn around now... " funnily enough both suits had wing holes in them. Like they had been prepared for two pegasi...

"Clearly, Pegasi are born from the Hasbro Storks that come when 2 ponies send a letter to Princess Celestia about wanting to have a baby" He stated in a matter-of-factly expression. "You know what?!" Chicken yelled slightly annoyed at Riley's insistence "Let's settle this," He continued a he thought of a good solution.

"Let's go ask Mo-" Chicken stopped.

 

"Mom"

 

Chicken sniffed as tears began welling up under his eyes. "I almost forget they were gone for a second" He forced a smile as he wiped his tears with the suit's sleeve.

 

"I guess It doesn't matter who's right" Chicken smiled "as long you're here and I'm here "  He grinned as he patted Riley's head.

"I still can't believe that they're dead..." Riley said crying "I miss mom... They died in the worst way I could think of... " She leaned against Chicken "I wish we could have died together... I didn't even thank them... They died thinking I was some ungrateful asshole!" She sniffled.
