Chicken raised his arm and slapped Riley really hard in the face. 

 

"Don't say that, you idiot!" Chicken yelled with tears in his eyes ."They.." he sniffled and wiping his tears with his suit's sleeve. "They knew they were going to die..." Chicken cried as he slammed his fist into the nearby wall , the sound of the impact echoed the room.

 

Chicken grew silent for a few moments before he continued...

 

"remember the morning of the blast..." Chicken gulped as he leaned himself on one of the room's walls. "when dad signed something for that vault agent lady" Chicken continued as he looked at his sister. "He asked you to leave so he could talk to me" Chicken stopped remembering the expression on his father's face. "He gave you that look Rye" Chicken cried as he glanced at his sister. "It was the look he gave mom when he said he was going to be "okay" before he left for the war" 

 

"Riley, I think that paper he signed was for two slots in the Vault".

" so they were dead before touchdown... "Riley said crying even more. " I want mom back, I want dad, I want the pancakes, Mr pickles heck I even miss being bullied for being so smart. I want the world before the war back when everything was better when everything was... Unexploded. God damn it! God fucking DAMN IT!" Riley flipped over the table and sat down leaning on it. Eventually after everything had finished a map floated down in front of her revealing the layout of the vault

"Rye?,  What is that?" Chicken curiously asked as he saw the map float down in front of his little sister. "Is that a map? it looks like a map" Chicken blabbered as he walked towards Riley. Chicken's attitude began to perk up a little . "Maybe we can find a way outta this nuthouse" he happily thought.

"Rye?,  What is that?" Chicken curiously asked as he saw the map float down in front of his little sister. "Is that a map? it looks like a map" Chicken blabbered as he walked towards Riley. Chicken's attitude began to perk up a little . "Maybe we can find a way outta this nuthouse" he happily thought.

"Yeah I guess... " Riley picked it up and looked at it" so we're here... And the exits are here.meaning we need to head up there around there and... Or we could just take the elevator... " She face hoofed after not noticing the simple way to get out. "You lead the way you obviously know more about maps then me."

Chicken took the Map and looked it over. "Hmmm...go through here....and then over there....alright" Chicken smiled as he briskly walked towards the door "Come on Rye!, The faster we get outta here the better!" Chicken exclaimed, gesturing his sister to follow him. "You ughh...take on gun duty, you seem to be better at shooting things than I am" He laughed as he continued his pace.

Chicken took the Map and looked it over. "Hmmm...go through here....and then over there....alright" Chicken smiled as he briskly walked towards the door "Come on Rye!, The faster we get outta here the better!" Chicken exclaimed, gesturing his sister to follow him. "You ughh...take on gun duty, you seem to be better at shooting things than I am" He laughed as he continued his pace.

"My pleasure." Riley said as the two walked through the vault which was more of a graveyard. Numerous posters were on the wall. "Vault-tec repopulating the world since 2077 " Riley couldn't help but feel awkward as she read that. "Experimenting is everyponys job!" One of them said depicting a Stallion in a vault suit and underneath. "Vault Colt copyright 2077" Riley was confused about why the Stallion was holding up one of his hooves.

"Say Rye," Chicken called as he walked through the metal corridors "you ever wonder what happened while we were sleepin'?" Chicken asked glancing at one of the posters from the wall. "I mean, it doesn't seem like they changed anything since our freezing" Chicken pondered. "W-what if the world is now ruled by Giant mutant roach creatures?!" Chicken panicked "the roaches would cover us with their roach eggs" He continues gesturing where the roaches would lay their eggs. "then when they hatch the baby roaches will eat us like breakfast!" He exclaimed like an idiot. "Riley! We're to get eaten by roaches" Chicken freaked swinging his arms in the air.

Riley slapped Chicken. "You idiot. Cockroaches are the least likely to survive a nuclear war! So we're not gonna die by roach. " she said that and a roach about the size of a small dog rounded the corner. "Why did I open my trap?" She said shooting it in the head splattering it across the floor. She felt like she would throw up but something about the corpse interested her. Maybe it was edible...

"I knew it!!" Chicken exclaimed " The roaches have taken over the world!" He panicked as he stared at the roach. "and you killed a baby!" He nervously pointed out, "they're going to take us to roach prison then we'll have to join a roach gang and they'll force us to work out" Chicken nervously blabbered as he held his sisters shoulders and shook her.

"Riley! I don't want to work out! "

Riley hit Chicken on the head with her gun " you idiot! Look." An even smaller roach came out of a hole in the wall. "That's a baby. Now can we leave? After we've figured out that we're not getting killed by massive radioactive roaches? One could say. Rad roaches?" She said laughing

"You say that now... You say that now Chicken" Riley said taking some of the RadRoach meat when Chicken wasn't looking. She hid it away in her smaller saddle bag with the bobby pins and ammo. "Sorry I got caught up checking something out. " Riley opened up the elevator and watched as a skeleton fell out of it.

"Yipes!" Chicken girlishly screamed as he quickly hid behind his little sister. "Why is there a skeleton in the elevator?" Chicken sheepishly whispered as he side-stepped around the bones and into the elevator. "Alright, at least he's not a zombie," Chicken thought breathing a sigh og relief.

 

"Leggo, I don't wanna stay here any longer than I have to" Chicken called, his body showing signs of fear, as he gestured fpr his to get into the elevator. "

"Yipes!" Chicken girlishly screamed as he quickly hid behind his little sister. "Why is there a skeleton in the elevator?" Chicken sheepishly whispered as he side-stepped around the bones and into the elevator. "Alright, at least he's not a zombie," Chicken thought breathing a sigh og relief.

 

"Leggo, I don't wanna stay here any longer than I have to" Chicken called, his body showing signs of fear, as he gestured fpr his to get into the elevator. "

Riley got into the elevator and hit the button labeled 1 it creaked and roared into life. And the elevator began to move up the vault. " vault 222 place your lives in our hooves." An automated voice said as the elevator dragged Riley Chicken and half a skeleton through multiple floors scraping against the elevator shaft

Chicken gave an unnerved look as the elevator doors forcefully closed , breaking off half the skeleton's spinal cord and causing a loud *snap* .

 

"We really should've pushed it out before closing it" Chicken said as he glanced at Riley, the elevators gears beginning to spin as they were being lifted up.

 

"I wonder what it's like out there" He thought nervously.

Chicken gave an unnerved look as the elevator doors forcefully closed , breaking off half the skeleton's spinal cord and causing a loud *snap* .

 

"We really should've pushed it out before closing it" Chicken said as he glanced at Riley, the elevators gears beginning to spin as they were being lifted up.

 

"I wonder what it's like out there" He thought nervously.

"Probably all blown up and stuff considering that a nuclear war happened like... Some time ago... Anyway let's go!" The elevator dinged and said 'first floor. For vault exit walk straight ahead thank you for spending 210 years with us. Have a nice post-apocalypse' the doors opened to reveal a long straight corridor with very few branching paths

Chicken walked through the long straight corridor. And picked a path at random. He was a bit terrified at how the world would look on the outside but at the same time he was a bit excited. "Rye!" he called towards his sister smiling a bit. "Let's go, maybe the outside has food" he laughed a bit as his stomach grumbled.

Chicken walked through the long straight corridor. And picked a path at random. He was a bit terrified at how the world would look on the outside but at the same time he was a bit excited. "Rye!" he called towards his sister smiling a bit. "Let's go, maybe the outside has food" he laughed a bit as his stomach grumbled.

"CHICKEN!? THE DOORS THIS WAY. UNLESS YOU WANNA STAY IN HERE? " Riley called out to her brother who was running down one of the passages. "Okay bye..." Riley went back to heading in a straight line towards the door. She yawned as she passed a couple of beds which didn't have skeletons in them (soon Riley soon) she thought realising how tired she was.

"W-What now?!"  he exclaimed as he abruptly stopped walking. The lack of sleep seemed to have affected him more than he thought. "The Path is where?!!" He cried in surprise realizing he was in the wrong direction as he ran as fast as he could like a maniac in fear he might be left behind, he practically tackled his little sister as she walked towards the door.

"Oh, sorry! " Chicken apologized quickly getting off his sister. The thought of being left behind may have had too much of an impact on his fears. Chicken briefly checked his sisters wing... " and yer' wing's gonna be fine! Yah crybaby :P" Chicken smiled as he walked towards the exit door.

"Oh, sorry! " Chicken apologized quickly getting off his sister. The thought of being left behind may have had too much of an impact on his fears. Chicken briefly checked his sisters wing... " and yer' wing's gonna be fine! Yah crybaby :P" Chicken smiled as he walked towards the exit door.

"C'mon! I know I heard a snap " Riley said getting up. "Now let's go!" Riley ran towards the exit. "I need to get out of this hell hole! Smell that fresh irradiated air! " she pluged her pip buck into a control panel and hit the open door button."come on I'm getting out of here today! "

Chicken smiled and walked towards the door as he walked through he was a bit terrified at the horrors that may come but he also knew he needed to be brave for his sister. "Alright Rye , Let's do this" He said with a hint of fear in his  voice as he walked himself out through the door.

Chicken smiled and walked towards the door as he walked through he was a bit terrified at the horrors that may come but he also knew he needed to be brave for his sister. "Alright Rye , Let's do this" He said with a hint of fear in his  voice as he walked himself out through the door.

 

"You are now leaving vault 222 please exit in an orderly fashion and mind the step." An automated voice said as Riley walked out into the harsh sunlight of the wasteland that was once her home town. You could see for miles provided you were looking In the right direction it was breath taking the brown land, clear sky and that slight smell of nuclear fallout all fused together to create an almost alien planet
