cider float 2,539 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 (edited) -They both seem to possess a similar spell of turning into mist and traveling. And they both tend to set trials for the main characters to go through. -Luna's rebellion happened right after Sombra was imprisoned. This was after Discord and Sombra was defeated and possibly Celestia was given all the credit putting Luna in the shadows again. -Luna wanted to go to the empire with Twilight but Celestia forbade it. Strange that this is the only occurrence where Luna wanted to go with Twilight to somewhere important. -Luna did help Celestia defeat Sombra and send him to his icy prison. -King Sombra can exist even beyond death and influence ponies as he did to the Crystal Ponies... he may had control over certain ponies. Is there a connection between these two? I feel like Sombra could of done or said something to Luna that made her become Nightmare Moon. I even feel that Sombra could of been a mentor or a close friend of Luna as they seem to share a similar lust for control. Hazy Skies 1,010 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 (edited) All bad ponies pretty much have a lust for control and ruling of all of Equestria.. But you bring up an interesting point.. Though a lot of the points can be explained logically.. Lust for control and stuff? This was only when Luna was Nightmare Moon.. and doesn't mean that she wants control now as a "good" pony.. Both being able to turn into shadowy figures? I see that as merely illusion magic to make them appear that way to others.. It's an effective intimidation tactic Luna wanted to go with Twi but Celestia said no? This was likely because either Celestia had faith in Twilight and she could do it on her own.. Or because Celestia thought that if the trip became dangerous, it would be good training for Twi.. Also.. Plot Luna's rebelion after the imprisonment of Sombra? This is still an interesting point.. If they were close friends (or even possibly in love?) and Luna being emotionally unstable after his imprisonment.. this could explain why she did it? Also, in the comics Celestia is in love with good Sombra.. Hmmm.. Wait a sec.. Could that mean that Luna was actually in love with the "Bad" Sombra? *Gasp* That is funny and awesome and makes so much sense at the same time An interdimensional Sombra/Luna/Celie Love triangle? :comeatus: (Insert smiley of Sombra here) But yeah.. 3 points against the theory.. but 1 strong point towards the whole Luna/Sombra attachment thing.. Btw, when you say "related" in the thread title it suggests relation by blood.. which would be extremely unlikely.. cuteycindyhoney 13,325 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 How would Sombra be related to Luna, but not Luna's BIG SISTER Celestia? I'm confused. Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!

By "related" I think OP meant some relation between Luna and Sombra specifically.. Like friends, mentor/student, lovers, etc.
