TheRealUsername 19 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Hey there! I was late in watching season 5 finale, (since my computer wasn't working and Argentinian TV is still by season 4 :/) but when I did, I was really amazed. Not only because it was a fun and creative episode, which it was, but mainly because of its depth. This episode explained some interesting things about how magic in Equestria works, and for some reason, I feel like I'm missing some important details. When I finished watching it, it got me thinking about how important friendship seems to be for Equestria. I mean, this is stressed lots of times in the show, and during this episode in particular. As it seems, friendship is like a net that connects all ponies, and if you break one, the villians who (worth noticing) have no friends, would find no opposition. Obviously, what the creators are trying to do here is try to convince children (and bronies) of the same thing that Twilight tries to convince, for example, Starlight: That "friendship is magic." I mean, it's even in the title of the show. I used to think that "frienship is magic" alluded to the personal and individual gain of having friends, and how it can make you feel great and have a nice life when you have someone to rely on. But "The Cutie Remark" took that to a whole new level, stating that friendship is what bonds all creatures together in Equestria, that it is the foundation of magic itself, and places Twilight as the most important princess of them all. Not the most powerful though. And that is basically why I think that the season finale was the best and richest episode of My Little Pony. I have a lot more to say, but I don't want to make this post too long xD. So I want to know, what do you think about this?
Raven Rawne 1,381 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 All it takes for Evil to triumph, is that good men do nothing. Or something like that. Seriously though, it's true. MLP Villains are evil because they had no one to turn them back from the path of evil. Having friends who would atleast try to convince them that it's not the way would reduce the amount of antagonist significantly. Twilight mused whenever, perhaps, shattering one friendship, and one so important too, could weaken all friendships in Equestria. A kind of ripple efect. While the alternate timelines may very well support this theory, since no other force was able to stop the villains when there were no Mane 6, and every next timeline was worse from the last, I tend to view friendship as a non-arcane kind of magic, so to speak. Rather, it's "magic" (and a White variety too) because it promotes a plethora of positive results, asking for nothing in return. You don't pay for friendship. It's free, like sunlight. And like with sunlight allowing pants to grow, so do friendships help friends grow in their mutual light. So, natutally, when friendship weakens, there is more strife and chaos, and in such conditions it's that much harder to fight against a changeling swarm, for example. Science wil reveal the Truth. 4april 374 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Friendship is obviously very important to Equestria. As Twilight said: the most powerful magic in Equestria is friendship But if you think of it, it is equally important in our world. We may not pay much attention to it, but friendship is magic
