I think the typical goth phase is a teenager one but the style in and of itself is just that. I think goth is a style anyone can rock. But the general stereotype of the lifestyle of goth can be a bit reckless so perhaps that's why it was heavily discouraged for adulthood.

I've rarely seen anyone dress in goth throughout my life.  

You should watch Danny Phantom @Princess Silky.  The female character in that show is gothic.

Been a goth since I was a teenager. Only difference is my style has matured. I’ve got some nice black tops, pants, boots and hats. I look more elegant now as opposed to how I used to. Not that you won’t find me every now and then in a Joy Division tshirt. It’s just I dress nicer now.

Also PSA that goth means being a fan of gothic rock, nothing more, nothing less. It's not a fashion and there are no rules for how you have to dress to be goth.

Fast forward two years later and I’m back to being in t-shirts mostly lol Still listen to goth bands ofc but as far as my fashion goes I’m dressing more in streetwear with some Y2K to it. Trying to add some more color to my wardrobe with my jackets but 95% of my shirts are still black.

That being said people can wear what they want

I'm more into the metal side of things but I absolutely have the same problem with too many black band tees. We all just love black aesthetics huh

I think I have like five actual color t-shirts and everything else is black lol.

I’ve got two more t-shirts coming in the mail

And they’re black too lol 

Not that I mind because I do love black. Thats why I’ve been buying different colored jackets. As I’ve got a lot of cool different color/design hats that go with none of my all black outfits lol.
