When he was through, he walked away from the portal and said,

"That's good news, that Second is alive. Take care of him and, call me paranoid, but could you step away from the others, I want to talk to you about something private."

Redwood watched as Sparkle flapped away on Roger to go get the stingray, staying behind as the captain had ordered.

 

"Sir, you wanted to talk to me about somethin'?" she asked.

 

Redwood was concerned about whatever the captain wanted to talk about. There was no way he could've known about her and Sparkle, but she was still worried.

Second Sight chuckled and called out after Sparkle, fully knowing that she couldn't hear him.

 

"The stingray isn't in one piece! Good luck securing all the parts with no ropes or anything!" he bated.

 

As Redwood backed out to talk to the radio, Second decided to be productive while he was down, sitting at the workbench.

 

He took a pencil, beginning to draw schematics for some kind of spaceship

"Well, sir, ah don't rightly know why Sparkle's taken a likin' to that bird. It showed up earlier this mornin' and it was friendly towards th' both of us. Sparkle got attached to it real quick, even named it Roger. Th' bird seems perfectly fine with us ridin' on it, and it even hauled th' three of us back here."

Shadow thought about what Redwood said. Maybe it's friendly, but then again, three hostiles and a supposedly passive one. He said as stretched his legs out,

"Hm, keep an eye on Roger. Like I said, I might just be paranoid, but better safe than sorry. Could you not tell the others what we discussed."

He placed the radio down and leaned his head back. This place must be messing with me.

"*Coughing* Red? it just *coughing* dived under the sand. this planet is the strangest place in the known universe... aside from the planet where it rains glass sideways..." Sparkle said shaking the sand from her wings

Sparkle heard a faint clicking from her inside jumpsuit. she reached into her pocket and pulled out a Geiger Counter which was going nuts. "hey Red? check this out." Sparkle said giving Red her Geiger counter "looks like the deserts here are radioactive."

"Sunnuva- Sparkle, we gotta get outta here. Let's get Roger to fly us out and we'll get back to th' ship. Been too long since we've been back anyways," said Redwood.

"Well, it looks y'all are fine now," said Redwood as she approached Sparkle and Roger.

 

She then looked at the clicking Geiger counter and swore.

 

"Sunnuva- Sparkle, we gotta get outta here. Let's get Roger to fly us out and we'll get back to th' ship. Been too long since we've been back anyways," said Redwood.

"hold on." Sparkle said using the singular vine she had found to secure the Stingray onto Roger's back before climbing on herself. The whale breached the sand again to breathe causing a new cloud which the heavy wind picked up causing a sandstorm Sparkle extended her hoof to allow Red a way onto Roger.

Redwood grabbed onto Sparkle's hoof and got on Roger. She pulled her bandana off her head and tied it around her muzzle. As the radioactive sand pelted them, Redwood made a nearly blind attempt to shield Sparkle as best she could.

"Get flyin' Roger!" she yelled.

Roger understood and began beating his wings as fast as he could without breaking them into tiny pieces whilst the sandstorm continued to eat up the ground behind them. The storm reached Roger's middle tail by the time they got into the air. and when they were flying it had completely enveloped Roger and his passengers

Redwood coughed as she tried to shake the sand off of herself. When they were a safe distance away from the sandstorm, she removed her bandana and tied back around her mane.

 

"How much do we gotta worry about th' radiation?" asked Redwood, "Are we gonna be growin' any extra limbs anytime soon?"

Redwood coughed as she tried to shake the sand off of herself. When they were a safe distance away from the sandstorm, she removed her bandana and tied back around her mane.

"Wanna drink?" she asked as she extended the flask towards Sparkle, "It's sliver tequila, th' good stuff. It's got a real kick to it though."

Karas made it on the other side of the portal with the captain. It was then busy using its PDA to try and locate any or all natural resources found on the planet. It wasn't really focused upon what everyone else was saying. However, it suddenly got massive radar pings.

 

It looked up, "Everyone I--wait...what is going on?"

"Nothing much, Second's leg is broken, Sparkle and Redwood have found a friendly bird. If that answers your questions, I suggest ya move and I will be working with the wires to see if I can get some things online

Redwood noticed Roger's squawking and asked, "What spooked him?"

"Don't tell me parents but this little filly knows where the alcohol's kept." Sparkle said referring to herself as 'a little filly' obviously comparing their ages.

 

Sparkle too noticed Roger squawking his heads off and looked over the edge. "uhh... Karas! that's what" Sparkle said noticing a familiar shape.

Redwood looked over and to her surprise, Karas was flying not too far from them.

 

"Hey, Karas!" Redwood yelled, "Lookit what we found! Somethin' that don't wanna kill us, and what's left of th' stingray."

 

She turned back to Sparkle and said, "Can you tell Roger not kill Karas?"
