Story: Canterlot it may seem like the greatest place on the outside but on the inside it place of lying, broken hearts, and miss connections. Gossip, etiquette, and the lust for power. Everything is plastic and fake, the high life, the glamour, but really just a mirage. All I can hope is that true love can shine through...

He was at the Castle getting ready for the grand ball.

The a seamstress was helping with his suit while the Princess Celestia was supervising.

As the seamstress finished her work the Princess adjusted little things here and there.

"Valiant you look dashing." said the Princess

"Thank You Princess..." he said gratefully bowing

"It's the least I can do for one of my brave adventurers..." she said

"Princess your too kind but I must be off to help supervise preparations." he said bowing then walking off....

He had just moved here to Canterlot and had already gotten his first big break as a guitarist in the orchestra for the grand ball, and he planned on doing his best. He continued and went on to playing his part in the music...

Splinter was getting ready for his Comedy Gig in the backstage.'Okay...I've done this before,I can do it again'' Thought Splinter while sweating.''These People have Other kinds Of senses of humor.I just hope they understand mine.'' Said Splinter ''Hey Buddy!Shows on!Knock'em Out!'' Said one of the Contestants who performed earlier ''Hay...I hope this works out.'' Thought Splinter while walking onto stage.Everyone was staring at him.''Come on,Think!Stupid Brain.'' Thought Splinter out loud as he smashed his head against the Microphone.''OW!'' Screamed Splinter in Agony Trying to recover.Then he noticed everyone laughing.''The Hay?'' Thought Splinter Confused.He took a punch to the face from himself.A second later everyone was Snorting and Laughing Out Loud.''You Like that?Wait until you see this?'' Said Splinter in pain as he grabbed a piece of rope,a ball,and a small pole from the Prop room.Little did he know it Actually was a bowling ball.He Tied the Rope to the Bowling Ball and Pole,And swung it off.It then hit his face and he fell flat on the ground,No one laughed.Splinter then popped up again with a Giant Smile,Everyone was laughing so loud people at the Cafe could hear it.Though he was Wrecked and beat up from the brutal but funny Knockouts.''Thank You!Thank You!See you all again soon!'' Said Splinter as walking into backstage.

''Ow...Ow.People sure do like painful humor now and days.'' Said Splinter as laughing and walking into the backstage with a black eye,His Suit Ripped up,and a rushing Bloody Nose.''Dear Celestia...Let me never remember this Moment EVER again'' Thought Splinter as he wiped the blood from his nose.

Six looked at Valiant with his dual colored eyes and smiled, when asked about the rest of the music he merely shrugged, looking around at the others practicing. They all sounded great, Six then went back to practicing the other music he was required to play.

Should I curl my mane, or not? On the one hoof, curls look more elegant and will probably compliment the flowers I'm attaching. But it shortens my mane length, and doesn't compliment my long face. Lovely began trying to squish her face, to make it shorter. Not shockingly, nothing happened. Why can't I just be born beautiful?! She was. Lovely looked as if she was a cut out from Cosmo magazine, she looked so flawless, she was a walking ad for photoshop. Lovely starred across the room at her dress, hand sown by Hoity Toity himself. The Grand Ball was the entry ceremony to Canterlot Hill High, the most prestigious school in all of Equestria. There wasn't a pony in Lovely's family who had not been in attendance. Lovely sighed heavily and looked back at herself in the mirror. Curls it is.

 

Eris straighten his bow tie. What was his sister's big day, he managed to turn into his big day. Eris beamed and made seductive faces at himself in the mirror he was standing in front of. No mare would be able to resist him tonight, not even Lovely. Eris chuckled to himself. Their parent's were busy so Eris was asked to bring Lovely to the ball. Eris began to reminisces of his Grand Ball. It was the first time he got a glance at the competition, as if there was any. "The Grand Ball really marks your entire highschool experience." He recalled telling Lovely. "Don't buck it up, we have a family name to upkeep." Eris buttoned the last button on his suit and headed towards Lovely's room. "You ready to go?" He called out as he knocked on her bedroom door.

 

Cherish stood watching the stage with disgust. Is this the best pre-entertainment they could find? She thought to herself in regards to Spliter's performance. I mean this is the Grand Ball after all. Maybe he's just some stupid kid that tried doing some comedy as a joke. Great the 'class clown'. Cherished rolled her eyes, as she fluffed her boa a bit. Cherished had shown up a bit too early and was convinced she was the only newbie here. I mean, Cherish didn't even let her own parent's come. She didn't want anypony to recognize her. This was her fresh start. Cherished passed the back stage to go to the washroom, she noticed some cute colts practising back there. Hmm, wouldn't be a bad place to check out, but more important things are at hand. Cherish arrived in the washroom and pulled up her dress. She sighed in relief as she saw her protruding rib cage. Cherished looked up at herself in the mirror. I'm thin and beautiful, she told herself multiple times.

Six didn't notice the mare walking in as he and the others were practicing, he was too focused on practicing his fast paced piece that he had somehow managed to acquire as a solo for the ball...

Splinter was sitting at his table with at least 5 ice packs all around his body.''Okay...Next time I'm just going to play Beezleboss and Kickapoo with a Guitar'' Thought Splinter as one of his eyes were Twitching and the other Completely Black.''Hay...I'm going to the Bar,There's still time until the next performance.'' Thought Splinter as getting out of his chair and walking over to the bar. ''Apple Cider.'' Said Splinter as he took a seat at the bar.The bar Tender looked at him with Surprise. ''Are you Okay Man?You look really hurt.I can Dial up a Do-'' Said the Bar Tender Before Splinter Stopped him. ''Just get the cider please.'' Said Splinter Over the bar tender ''You got it buddy...'' Said the bar tender as handing Splinter a bottle of Cider. Splinter Chugged it down in 5 minutes flat.He then gave the Bar Tender 5 Bits and walked back to his table.''Bloody Hay...I should have just performed somewhere else...'' Said Splinter as putting his head down,Feeling Groggy.''I hope that apple cider didn't mess up my head again...'' Said Splinter to himself.

"Almooost!" Lovely chimed as she admired herself in her dress. You look lovely, just like you should. Lovely powdered her face a bit more and used a little more hairspray to make sure she would be looking flawless all night. "Lovely, being too late is rude and ungraceful." Lovely opened the door to see her brother. Eris embraced his sister, "you looke stunning." "Thanks." It was such an honour to receive such a compliment from Eris.

 

Eris burried his snout into Lovely's mane. She smelt as magical as she looked. "Shall we be on our way now my lady?" Eris knelt down and kissed Lovely's hoof. Lovely smiled and blush. Eris and Lovely arrived at the Grand Ball. "Open bar, nice." Eris commented. "Lovely why don't you acquaint yourself with some of the professor's as I make myself comfortable." Eris sat next to Splinter at the bar, "some cider please." The bar tender gave Eris his drink for free, since he was so famous. Eris took his drink to go and waltz over to the open punch, spiking it without anypony noticing.

 

Cherished left the washroom and passed by the back of the stage again. She noticed one of the ponies playing a song. "Are you going to be playing that on the stage later?" Cherished bent over provocatively in front of Six. Cherished flipped her hair back and got up close and personal with Six, "can you play a song just for me?" Cherished bat her eyes. Cherished noticed a pony watching her and Six, "and who may you be?" she asked Valiant.

''Bloody Hell...You don't want to know how I had to entertain those Ponies.'' Said Splinter as he put his ice pack on his eye. ''It went from Saying a Joke to smashing my head with a bowling ball.I need another Drink...'' Said Splinter as he rubbed his forehead with his Red Hoof.He Drank another Cider and payed again.''I'm just going to stay here until the end.I don't want to be the guy who Smashed his head Against a bowling ball for Comedy at a Fancy Ball In canterlot...'' Said Splinter

"Who are you talking to?" Eris said noticing Splinter talking to himself alone at a table. "Are you some bucking wacko that came in here from the streets?" Eris turned to the doors, "Guards! Guards! Some street filth as wandered in here." Eris clapped his hooves together. Lovely looked alarmed and ran over to the two ponies. "Eris stop! That's Splinter, he's doing a comedy sketch later tonight. His father is the head chef here and got him a gig as part of tonight's entertainment." Eris looked sceptical at Lovely and Splinter. "I memorized the guest list just as you requested." "Very well," Eris sat down next to Splinter, "so you're some sort of funny man eh?" Eris laughed, "get yourself some punch would you Lovely?" Said Splinter as he took out a picture from his pocket of his brother.His black eye dripped a tear.''I'm such a Retard...People like you Eris..They do great things in life...People like me end up almost losing a entire family and failing on things they want to do.'' Said Splinter as his face became bright blue.

Eris shook his head and smiled as he put his hoof on Splinter's back. "Now I don't want to here anymore of that horsestuff. You think your brother would want to hear that kind of things from you?" Eris removed his hoof, "look around you my friend. Look at all the beautiful mares, tonight is a buffet. And even if you don't have much lucky with the ladies, I spiked the punch, so they'll be much easier than normal. Tonight my friend you can be a winner. These mares will believe whatever you tell them, live as a star tonight." Eris cleared his throat, "and you look like that because you got into a skiing accident." Eris winked.

 

Lovely poured herself a glass of punch and drank it. She had never had cider before, but the punch sure did have an unusual taste. Lovely looked around, everypony looked so regal. All the mares were beautiful and all the stallions were handsome. Lovely couldn't help, but feel intimidated. Lovely watched here brother Eris talk to Splinter. I guess I should socialize as well.

Six looked up at the mare that was speaking to him, his dual colored eyes easily seen in the light. He said nothing as she spoke, he had never had a mare flirt with him before. Luckily her attention switched to Valiant. He had finished practicing so he and the rest of the musicians began to assemble to their designated spots. All the musicians beside him was wearing a fancy tuxedo, he found them quote uncomfortable and thus chose not to wear it. Another pony came up and began to open the curtain, it was almost time to begin.

Splinter Put the photo back in his pocket and looked up.''I guess your right...'' Said Splinter as he was smiling.His phone then rang.''Hello?Who are you?'' said splinter as he was puzzled. ''Yo dude!Look behind you!'' Said the voice on the phone.''Huh?'' Said Splinter before noticing the Pony behind him.''Scotch?'' Said Splinter as he noticed Scotch ''Whats up Splinter!'' said Scotch. ''Scotch!Long time no see!'' Said Splinter as they Brohoofed and Smashed their heads together.''Oh...Eris,This is my friend from the Academy Scotch.Scotch,This is Eris.'' Said Splinter.''I'm going to grab some punch''punch'' Said Scotch as running near the Punch Bowl.''Uh Oh...Does that punch have effects on Colts?Cause if it does my friend is going to act like a Pervert all night.'' Said Splinter to Eris after Scotch left.

Cherished gave an astonished look as she noticed the two different eyes colours of the musical pony. Before she had a chance to say anything a woman asked that she be seated with the others, as the show was about to start. Cherished smiled and shook her heads, "seems as if we have to go now." Cherished said to Valiant, "care to join me at one of the tables?" Cherished went and sat down at a table near the front of the stage.

 

Lovely noticed the lights dimming and quickly ran over to be seated with Eris and Splinter. Eris was laughing heartily as Lovely seated herself next to him. "Lovely better watch out then." Eris said with a wink. Lovely had brought a glass of punch back with her, she looked a little more flushed than usual. "Drink up my dear, tonight is going to be a special night for you." Eris advised his sister. Eris winked at Splinter as Lovely chugged down the punch. "Atta girl."

The conductor pony came out and addressed the audience with the usuall introductions. The musicians along with Six began to play, including the song Six was first practicing. (Refer to first post). Once the slower songs ended, the conductor turned once more and said "And now for something a little different, please welcome a young uprising musician who joined us tonight, Six String, playing his own original music. At this, Six made his way to the center of the stage, retuning his guitar and he began to play. (Refer to second song posted)

Splinter was still drinking a cider.Then he noticed Scotch hitting on almost every Mare in the room at the time.''Eris..You have to see this,He looks so stupid right now'' Said Splinter as he was giggling at the Sight Of Scotch of being hit by multiple things from Mares like Purses,Hooves,Other Mares already had a Colt,so Scotch would get Attacked by a Colt every once and a while.

Eris shook his head, "you should be wary of the company you keep. He makes this ball look like a joke." Eris took a sip of water that was in front of his on the table. Lovely's eyes lit up as the musician's came out onto the stage and they started to play. "They're amazing!" Lovely exclaimed. "They're okay we had the Canterlot Orchestrate preform at my ball." Lovely shrugged, maybe it was the strange punch, or the excitement but they seemed wonderful to her. Suddenly a new musician came onto the stage, he played beautifully. Lovely's eyes shined with admiration. The live music ended and the crowd clapped.

Splinter got up from his Chair.''I've got to go...The Academy is Having a test in a few minutes...But I don't understand why they would do it now.I'm just going to let Scotch Stay here and do whatever.'' Said Splinter as he left the ball ''Bye Eris!'' Said Splinter before walking out the door.''Well...I guess I could get a cup of coffee.'' Thought Splinter as he walked into the Cafe.He sat down and Got a cup of coffee.''That's better,Time to get to class.'' Thought Splinter as he flew back to the Academy.After he finished the test he Went to his room and fell asleep on the couch while watching late night Horror Movies...

Six smiled gently at the crowd as they clapped, never one to boast, he humbly bowed to the crowd and left with the rest of the musicians. He soon walked from back stage, going to the foodsection to grab a bite to eat, not really talking with anypony.

Splinter Woke up quickly after screams came from the TV.''I'm going back to that Party...Sleeping isn't very fun.That's for sure'' Said Splinter as getting off the couch and getting dressed up.He Put a Tuxedo on,Combed His Hair,and fixed up the Marks from the Performance earlier that night.He then flew down to Canterlot and Returned to the Ball.Returning to the bar.''One apple Cider'' Said Splinter as he set out the bits.The bar tender gave him the drink.Splinter Walked over to a table and sat down.He took a chug and Put it down.''Ugh...Feeling groggy is terrible'' Thought Splinter as he was feeling ill.

After a long night of walking, Winter arrived at the Grand Ball. "I guess I'll head to the bar, first!" She said to herself, trotting over. Winter looked inside. Many ponies were there. Winter probably would have greeted everypony, but she was too tired. And thirsty. Winter walked over to the punch, and poured herself a glass. She drank it all. Still thirsty, She thought to herself. She drank a few more glasses of punch, but then she started feeling... unusual.

 

Winter started walking around the bar, looking at all the handsome stallions. "You're cute." She said to one stallion, to receive a punch from the stallion's date. Winter stumbled backwards from the hit. She was angry. Winter sent out a spark from her horn as a warning. Though, before she could actually attack the mare, she stumbled to the floor, asleep.

Winter awoke to the warm touch of the most handsome stallion she had ever seen. The white, well built, unicorn smiled at her, his teeth sparkled. He had the most beautiful smile she had ever seen, she didn't even know her name and she already felt her heart tinkling. "The floor is no place for a lady." The handsome stallion chuckled. "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Eris Nova. Heir to the Nova family." Eris kissed Winter's hoof. He was like a prince.

 

Lovely kept drinking punch, as Eris requested. Walking became difficult for her, she could hardly focus on where she was going. Eventually she discovered just sitting at the bar was probably the best place for her. Coincidentally she was sitting next to Splinter. Lovely's face was flushed, she couldn't even think properly. "A-anofer one pwease sir," Lovely managed to say with a few hics. She turned to Splinter, "why are they sew bucking slow here, like buck *hic*".

 

Cherished was in a huff about Valiant not coming to sit with her during the performance. What the buck? Does he think he's better than me, or something?! What a bucking loser. I don't need him anyway, I don't like colt-cuddlers. Cherished left the table and got two drinks as she headed backstage, she planned on getting some action tonight, even if it was with a poor pony. As Cherished walked by Valiant she laughed and commented on his 'lack of man-hood' and 'taste in colts'. Cherished made her way to the backstage, "you were pretty good out there, hot stuff." Cherished said giving Six a drink.
