Thunder Dash - The Ice Shrine of The Crystal Mountains [Melodic Ambient]

Courageous Thunder Dash

Recommended Posts

This is an ambient piece I created on the fly today while experimenting with ambient settings on my Korg Kronos. It's based on a fictional place in the Crystal Mountains of Equestria.

Loving the sound of this. Really atmospheric and almost hypnotic. As for CC, it sounds like you mic'd yourself playing the synth through the speakers. If you could get a direct high quality recording of this (like through a MIDI audio interface into your computer) with some mastering it'd be golden IMO.

Yeah...that's what I'm saving up for. Direct box straight into an interface would be the perfect solution for eliminating that background noise. Such a pain when the listener has to hear the beep of me switching sounds, which is why I had to crowd my sounds up before I switched.

Thanks for the critique!

I got a USB interface for about $50, and it works pretty well, so thankfully they're not too horrible price-wise.

Ooh, that sounds like a bargain. But yeah, I'll just have to use my phone to record until I save up to get that direct-port recording stuff.

Picked some good sounds to have fun with. Very relaxing to listen to. Direct Box will easily take your stuff to the next level. some of the higher more ethereal sounds I think would sound even better with a softer or slightly more delayed attack, but that's just my opinion. Having it record to the computer will be great too because you can do more post processing with delays and reverbs and such. Also I'm happy jealous that you get to play with a real quality synth :pinkie:

Thanks Blue! Yeah, the Kronos is an amazing synthesizer/workstation! I can't wait to get that direct box so that way I wouldn't have to put up with my phone's mic picking up unnecessary noises.

This sounds really cool. It would be nice to hear again with better recording equipment.

Yeah...saving up for a direct box so I could hook the whole thing to my laptop.
