How's the fandom holding up?

Hi guys! Some of you might not remember me. In fact, most of you probably don't even know who I am these days. It's been a long time.

 

Anyway, I was just listening to Just One Mare and I remembered Poni1Kenobi has been one of my favourite artists since the early days (about four years ago). And ALL of my pony music is so nostalgic when it manages to come up amongst the other thousands of songs so I was wondering- Is the fandom still this good?

I'm sorry to insult everypony, but I haven't even been properly involved in the fandom until now, and the rest of the world's music is certainly going to shit.

I think the fandom has always been this good, still is, and will continue to be. WE are the fandom after all and a lot of us love being creative and making new things. How much those creations are liked depends on the personal tastes of others. Also, importantly, nostalgia plays a big role in liking things. When I listen to "Proud To Be A Brony" I get really nostalgic and it's kind of heartwarming because it brings memories of the past years to mind. 

 

Unfortunately, nostalgia also has the ability to give us "golden goggle" syndrome. To counter it, I'd just recommend checking out new music, art, etc. Fellow bronies are always making new stuff and quite a bit of it is spectacular, IMH. Enjoy the old and surprise yourself with the new~

Sounds good! And I certainly do! Not too often with so much music of my own, but I still have HoofSounds and this awesome app called All Pony Radio. I occasionally hear new pony music and decide to download it.

 

Great to hear! I'm glad we're still holding strong.

 

What about the hate? There's still always trolls and "genuine" haters, but the haters are usually pretty reasonable now in my experience, and lots of people IRL (including strangers) even support me, respect me and cheer me on.
