Recent Topics vs Followed Topics

I'm aware that we can follow an individual topic, but even if we don't, topics that I've posted in still show up in my recent topics box. While this is sometimes helpful, there are plenty of topics I no longer post in (and haven't for quite a while) that flood that box. I was wondering if maybe we could do away with the 'recent topic' box and instead make it a 'followed topic' one.

I second this. I would really like there to be an option to subscribe or unsubscribe to topics I have posted in so that box doesn't get bumped every other hour by posts I no longer care about. However I do want quotes and bro hoofs to appear in my message box even when unsubscribed. So if both can be done, that would make things so much better around here.
